Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Hi, Stampers!
This month, the theme is “Fun Family Occasions.” We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal. We all have family occasions to enjoy soon, whether Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, birthdays, reunions, vacations, etc. So, I made a card for my husband for Father’s Day. My husband loves the ocean and yearns to see it all the time, therefore this stamp set was a must-have for my stash. All the images are sweet, so I will post another one this Friday. I hope you will come back again to see it!

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, this A2 card started with white cardstock, cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4.
- After that, I cut the Country Woods designer paper to 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 and adhered it to the card base.
- Then, I cut the Thoughtful Journey designer paper to 5-3/8 x 4-1/16 to give just a little border.
And now, the fun part!
- Once that was done, I stamped the Beside Me image in black ink. This image reminds me of my husband and my kids when they were young (oh, how I wish I could go back to those days!).
- Then, I began coloring the images with lots of different Stampin’ Blends, trying to add more depth of color (colors listed below). This took a little time but I think it was worth it to get richer colors.
- After that, I cut it out with the Radiating Stitches die, and lightly sponged the edges with Misty Moonlight ink with a brush. Then, I cut another piece of white cardstock with the Radiating Stitches to give strength. After adhering them together, I cut another piece of the Country Woods paper to the card base. I was pleasantly surprised that this paper looks like the ocean – what a happy accident! Then, I popped the image up with dimensionals.
- I wanted more detail on the card front, so I cut out two Painted Lavender branches in white cardstock and colored them with Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends.
- Then, I stamped the “Happy Father’s Day” sentiment from Beside Me in Misty Moonlight ink and cut it out with the circle die from the Radiating Stitches dies. Once that was done, I glued the branches to the back of the sentiment, and popped it up onto the corner of the focal image.
- Finally, I was excited to find the flying birds stamp in Beside Me! I was so upset I had lost the one I used so much from Mountain Air, but this one is even better! I stamped it onto the card front in Misty Moonlight ink to add a little life to the card.
There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be “New In Color Inspiration.”
Until then, have fun in your craft space!

I love this card Debbie. The colouring and choices of DSP are so striking. Thank you for sharing.
This is such a beautiful Father’s Day card! I used the same stamp set last year to make a Father’s Day card for my husband. It really is a sweet set with such precious images. I used the dad teaching the son to ride the bike image; it reminded me of when our son was young and my husband was helping him learn to ride a bike. Beautiful card! I’ve been scrolling through your blog tonight and so many of your cards are just amazingly gorgeous! I’m hoping as I keep learning that some day soon I’ll have that much talent with making my cards.
