It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! So, my card today is sporting TWO different fun folds. The front shows off the book binding technique and the inside is a great pop-out that is so easy to make! The Enduring Beauty bundle is a new kind for Stampin’ Up! to offer – you get stamps, dies and stencils for the flowers. It was fun to do and I am sure you would enjoy it, too!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with the card base that is cut to 4-1/2 x 11, and scored at 5-1/2 and 6-3/4.
  • Then, I cut the designer paper for the card front at 1 x 4 and 4 x 4.
  • After that, I adhered the left side to the inside of the card to make the book-binding fold, and glued the designer paper to the right side on the front of the card.

Now, the FUN part!

  • So, you might remember when I stated that the Enduring Beauty bundle was one of my favorites. I can’t believe it took me this long to play with it but sometimes I need to clear my mind to be creative with a new product. So, after stamping the floral image, I started using the masks/stencils and blending inks to the stamped floral outline.
  • Once that was done (and it didn’t take long), I cut it out with the coordinating die and cut out a second one to give it some dimension.
  • After that, I stamped the Enduring Beauty sentiment and cropped it out with the Unbounded Love die.
  • Finally, I decided to use the Petal Pink Diagonal Trim ribbon to wrap the left panel. If I had been smart, I would have done that before I glued it down to the inside so learn from my mistake, OK?
  • Oh, I also used the new Swirl Dots to the flowers and sentiment.

Then, on the inside…

  • Firstly, I made the pop-up fold for the inside for a great fun fold surprise. It’s so easy to create one because it takes a 6″ square piece of paper (cardstock or DSP) and scored at 3″ in both directions and scored from one corner to the diagonal corner. Then, fold and burnish the score lines.
  • I made a tiny pencil mark from the left score line to the 2″ mark, then glued the pop-up paper to the inside of the card. After that, I applied glue to the other end and closed the front of the card on top of it to make sure it closed completely.
  • I stamped the “Happy Birthday” from the Enduring Beauty stamp set in Pecan Pie ink, then cropped it out with the Unbounded Love dies.
  • Finally, I cut out a second one to place on the card for a personal message.
