Paper Pumpkin April 2024 Alternative Cards Part 1

Hi, Stampers!

I received my Paper Pumpkin April 2024 kit last week (wow, they are arriving much sooner now!). This kit is fantastic – I love the beautiful butterflies and gorgeous papers, so I couldn’t wait to play with it this past weekend. I have several cards to show you but it would be better to show them a few at a time. You will probably notice that the cards I am showing you today all use the Lost Lagoon card base as a panel on my cards, so you know how much I love it.

I hope to have the rest of my cards for you tomorrow, although I am now taking care of a sick little guy, who has been demanding my attention. So, stay tuned…

My Secrets!

Card #1: Thanks

Create this card using Paper Pumpkin April 2024 Kit by Stampin' Up! & Debbie Mageed at Secrets To Stamping
  • Firstly, I have to say how much I love the Lost Lagoon card bases that came with this kit. I would have loved the entire kit was this card base!
  • The card base is Lost Lagoon cardstock, cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, and then scored at 4-1/4. I cut the kit’s Lost Lagoon card base to 5 x 3-3/4, then layered it onto white cardstock, and cut it to 5-1/8 x 3-7/8.
  • After that, I found a white piece of cardstock that had been cut with the Stitched Rectangle die in my stash. I dry embossed with the Distressed Tile embossing folder, then centered it onto the card base.
  • Once that was done, I cropped out the Lost Lagoon butterfly from the kit’s panel with the coordinating Add-on die (love that it coordinates!). After that, I used the other add-on butterfly die on the champagne foil paper with the butterfly frame to make a beautiful foil butterfly and layered it on the Basic Beige cardstock from the kit that was cut with the butterfly die, as well.
  • Then, I cut out two pieces of Lost Lagoon cardstock to make the “thanks” just a bit thicker and glued it to the white panel. I also added one of the butterflies from the kit.
  • Finally, I added the flat pearls to two of the butterflies for a little sparkle.

Card #2: Any fun occasion!

  • So, for this card, I decided to try a Faux Shutter card.
  • Firstly, I cut the Basic Beige cardstock to 11 x 4-1/4 and scored at 5-1/2.
  • After that, I cut the Lost Lagoon cardstock to 5-1/4 x 4 and glued it to the card base.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the “hooray it’s your day!” from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set onto Basic Beige cardstock in Lost Lagoon ink and cropped it out with the Stylish Shapes square die. Then, I layered it onto Lost Lagoon cardstock and popped it up with dimensionals.
  • Then, I cut the beige cardstock from the kit to 1/4 and gold foil paper (not in the kit) to 1/8 and glued them together to create a bit more of a layer (SECRET: next time I will glue these strips down individually around the focal image).
  • Then, I added the strips of cardstock around the sentiment.

Finally! Card #3: Happy Birthday

  • Now, for this card, I kept it rather clean and simple (at least for me). The card base is white cardstock that was cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4.
  • After that, I cut one of the Lost Lagoon card bases to 5-1/4 x 4 and glued to the card base.
  • Then, I cut another piece of white cardstock the same size as the white butterfly panel that was part of the kit and glued them together.
  • I stamped the “happy birthday” from the Sweetly Scripted stamp set before gluing it to the card base.
  • I added the gray butterfly from the kit with a mini dimensional then added the bling to the centers of each butterfly.
