Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!
Hi, Stampers! We have a great blog hop of fun fold crafters today so I know you will enjoy the inspiration this month. There’s a lineup below to make it easy for you to hop along and see all the great inspiration from other creative SU demonstrators. It’s that time of year when I need a few masculine cards, so I wanted to use the new bundle I just received ~ Adventurous Sky. I will get lots of use from this one with my family since we love airplanes and travel! The fun fold I decided to use is called the Interlocking Circle Peek-A-Boo fold. It’s so easy to make and love the creative possibilities using images and designer paper. And, if you are interested in this bundle, I have another card using it on Friday!
My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, I loosely used this tutorial by Patty Bennett, but did make some changes so I will provide details for my card.
- Card Base: cardstock cut to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4.
- Card Front DSP: 4 x 3-1/2 and 4 x 2. These were placed onto the card front, overlapping the ends.
- Inner card: 5-1/4 x 8 and scored at 2 and 4.
- Inner Card DSP: 4 x 5-1/4, and 2 pieces at 1-3/4 x 5.
Now, the FUN Part!
- So, after I had fun putting the card bases together, I started with the images on the card front. Firstly, I stamped the little airplane using Night of Navy ink, colored it with Stampin’ Blends and cut it out plus a second to give it strength. Then, I stamped the small cloud in Smoky Slate and the sentiment from Adventurous Sky in Night of Navy ink. After that, I cut it out with a circle die from the retired Stitched Shapes, then added the airplane onto the circle with dimensionals.
- Once that was done, I stamped the two sailboats from a long-retired but cherished bundle called Sailing Home. I thought the water needed a little life on it! They were both popped up with dimensionals. And the sky also needed some life so I stamped the lovely birds from that stamp set to the upper right corner.
- The last thing I did was cut the card front with the same circle die, centering a bit on the top designer paper.
Then, on the inside…
- All I did for the inside of the card was cut a white panel from the Radiating Stitches die after stamping the Adventurous Sky sentiment in Night of Navy ink.
- Then, to complete the card, with all of the panels glued in place, I closed the card and placed the circle with the airplane through the hole in the front and glued the right side of the circle onto the folded card inside.
