My Irresistible Blooms Card for Creative Creases #84

It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! I made a great fun fold for you all today. We recently had one (Carrie, was it you?) I looked for it but couldn’t find it, but finally came across a Youtube video to make it. The card was made with the Irresistible Blooms bundle because I hadn’t used it in a while and love the florals. I have a link to the video below in the Secrets section. It’s so much fun to make this card, showing off pretty papers and gives a big WOW when it’s opened up. Try it!!

Once you’re finished here, check out the current Creative Creases challenge; just click the button below!

My Irresistible Blooms Card Today

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I followed this wonderful tutorial by Created the Ottaway.
  • Main Card Base: 5-1/2 x 10-1/4 and scored at 4-1/4 and 8-1/2
  • Inside Card Base: 4-1/2 x 7 and scored at 1/2, 3-1/4, 3-3/4 and 4-1/4
  • Main Card DSP: 4 x 5-1/4 (3)
  • Inside Card DSP: 2-5/8 x 4-3/8 (2)
  • Flap DSP: 1-1/2 x 5-1/4

Now, the FUN part!

  • Assembling the main card is pretty straightforward, so I just glued those down.
  • The challenging spot was the inside card, so I watched her video a couple of times to make sure I didn’t mess it up. When assembling the card, the 1/2″ side gets glued to the left-hand side to make the inside card pop out. You can put the DSP panel on either side you want on the inside, then I added the second DSP panel to the “front” of the inside card. And don’t forget to glue the book fold that gets tucked under the flap!
  • After that, I began stamping the flowers from Irresistible Blooms in Moody Mauve ink and cropped them out with their coordinating dies. Then, I stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow ink and cropped them out, as well.
  • Once that was done, I cut out the frame from the Designer Tags and stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink. Then, I tied pretty Diagonal Trim to the top of the frame. I added Blooming Pearls for the center of the flowers.

Then, on the inside…

  • Then, for the inside card, I stamped the sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set in Moody Mauve ink. I was going to use the Hexagon punch but thought to use the brand new Labeled With Love Punch and it was perfect!
  • Lastly, I cut out the branches from the Designer Tags and colored them with the SU100 and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. You may not see the blended colors but I love how that turned out!
