Another Pinwheel Tower Card for Creative Creases #90

It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! Did you see my Pinwheel Tower card on Tuesday? I made it to highlight the Country Flowers stamps and think it turned out cute! Well, today I have another version of a Pinwheel Tower card that I haven’t made before and love the results! I used a whopping six stamp sets to make it personal for my daughter in Australia. She just moved back to Brisbane to start her new career as a psychologist after receiving her Masters degree to add to her Ph.D.!

Once you’re finished here, check out the current Creative Creases challenge; just click the button below!

My Card Today

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I googled the card fold and found this post by a past CCC Guest Designer, Susan LaPanne! Go and take a look at her sweet Christmas card!
  • Card Measurements:
    • Card Base: 5-1/4 x 7-1/2 cardstock, scored at 1-3/4, 3-1/2, 5-1/4, 7
    • Rectangular Panels: Cardstock: 1-3/4 x 3-1/2, White Cardstock: 1-1/2 x 3-1/4, DSP: 1-3/8 x 3-1/8 (8 of DSP #1 and 4 of DSP #2
    • Square Panels: White Cardstock: 1-1/2 x 1-1/2, DSP #3: 1-3/8 x 1-3/8 (use square punches if you have them!)
  • Once that was done, I made the tower, snipping the ends of the 1/2″ side to tidy it up, and used tear n tape to keep it strong.
  • Then, I adhered all of the panels together with liquid glue to make them layer nicely.
  • After that, I used tear n tape on all of the sides of the tower and began laying the panels on, one side at a time.

Now, the FUN part!

  • So, honestly, the DSP does the fun part on this card. I just added a bit of life and sentiments wherever I thought it needed them. As you can see from the supply list below, I used a nice supply of stamp sets and dies to make it fun to look at.
  • Then, I added the butterfly die cuts with some pretty Glossy Dots for a touch of sparkle.
  • As I was about to photograph this card, I decided to add the adorable (contraband) birds and kitties to the square panels. Are they too cute??
  • This card will be inside a care package to my Australian daughter! The card measures 7 x 5-1/4 when inside its envelope.

Then, it folds flat for mailing…

I hope to submit this card to the following challenges:

This chair is always being fought over by Noah and his Giddu. He ran to sit on it when he saw it wasn’t occupied!

  1. Lovely, Debbie! I did not order that DSP because I thought I’d use the stamps to make my own. I have now found that I’m not ambitious enough…lol! Your daughter will love it and congrats to her. I bet she’s going to miss that “scroll to the end” little man! Hugs and have a great weekend.
