Another Christmas Labels Fun Fold Card for CC #91

It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! I know you have seen center step cards but the one I have for you today is in the “portrait” orientation, not the “landscape” that we normally make. I thought it would be fun to show you how easy it is to make if you are looking for something easy but a little different. Since I had just used the Christmas Labels on THIS card, I jumped right in and made a second one that is in the holiday colors we all love.

Once you’re finished here, check out the current Creative Creases challenge; just click the button below!

My Card Today

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this center step card uses the following cuts:
    • Card base #1: 4-1/4 x 9, score at 1-1/4, 2-1/2, and 5-3/4
    • Card base #2: 2-1/2 x 8-1/2 and scored at 5-1/2
  • Panel dimensions:
    • Front Top Panel: CS: 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 and DSP: 2-1/8 x 5-1/8
    • Front Bottom Panel: CS: 1 x 4 and DSP: 7/8 x 3-7/8
    • Panel behind the front panel: CS: 3 x 4 and DSP: 2-7/8 x 3-7/8
    • Back Top Panel: CS: 2-1/8 x 2-1/4 and DSP: 1-7/8 x 2-1/8
    • White cardstock for a personal message: 3 x 4 with DSP layered underneath: 3-1/8 x 4-1/8

Now, the FUN part!

  • Once all of the panels were cut and adhered together, I adhered them to their respective card bases.
  • Please note that before you adhere the back personal message to the card base, you need to glue Card Base #2 down onto Card Base #1.
  • After that, I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Labels in Pretty Peacockink and cropped it out with the beautiful coordinating die.
  • Since the sentiment wasn’t very large, I chose the flowers in the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set to stamp and color with Stampin’ Blends (colors listed below).
  • Then, I wanted to add some baker’s twine but didn’t have any in Cherry Cobbler so I colored white baker’s twine with my Stampin’ Blends. Once that was done (and dry), I adhered the flowers, then the baker’s twine and sentiment with dimensionals. Finally, I added the new Drusy Embellishments to the centers of the flowers.

Then, on the back

  • When I turned my attention to the back of the card, instead of stamping the sentiment on the white panel, I decided to make a panel for the upper portion of Card base #2, leaving the white panel for your personal message. After making the panel, I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Labels in Pretty Peacock ink and cropped it out with Stitched Shapes die.

  5. Debbie,

Your mixture of papers and suites are beautiful. I didn’t give the “Christmas Labels” a second look, until now. Thank you for your beautiful inspiration, my friend.
