Stampin’ Up! Regal Flora for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Create this card using Regal Flora by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets To Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

This month, the theme is Random Acts of Kindness. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal. I love doing something special for people, so this month’s theme is perfect for me to inspire you and be inspired by the other projects we have for you today. Since I haven’t used one of my favorite suites in the holiday catalog, I wanted to play with the Regal Flora stamp set and coordinating dies. I have two projects for you, a card and a gift box made with the new Book Treat Box, so you have some options.

I used the same card base just last month, but made it an easel card instead. If you are interested in seeing this very versatile card base in another way, you can see THIS card. It’s so easy to make and you will enjoy making one, no matter which way you go.

My Secrets!

Regal Flora Card

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this card base is the same as THIS card but used in the portrait position ~ isn’t that interesting?!
  • The card base is 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 1-1/4 and 4-1/4.
  • Cardstock Panels: 5-1/4 x 2-3/4(front left), 5-1/4 x 1 (front right), 5-1/4 x 4 (inside)
  • DSP Panels: 5-1/8 x 2-5/8 (front left), 5-1/8 x 7/8 (front right), 5-1/8 x 1-1/2 (inside)
  • White cardstock for personal message: 5-1/8 x 3-7/8
  • After all papers were cut, I adhered them together, then I glued the middle section down to keep it from opening.

And now, the fun part!

  • Since I love Blackberry Bliss, I used it for all the stamped images. After that, I cut them out with their coordinating dies.
  • Then, I cut out white carstock with the Spotlight on Nature circle die and arranged the images around the sentiment from Crafting with You.
  • Finally, I added the Regal-Foiled Dots for some pretty sparkle.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the Crafting with You sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink.
  • Finally, I used the extra floral images on the left side of the card.

Book Treat Box

  • Firstly, I love these adorable Book Treat Boxes and they are big enough to put some small gifties, like chocolate or candy, jewelry, gift card, skin care products ~ you name it! You can decorate them in no time at all, too, which makes them a great last minute project during the holidays. Then, my little trick was to use a hidden magnet under the focal point; EASY to do and works great!

Book Treat Box Instructions

  • DSP: 3 x 4 (2 if you want to cover the back like I did), and 7/8 x 4 (if you want to do the spine). I also used DSP inside the box, whichwas cut to 2-3/4 x 3-1/2, which. you might need to trim a tiny sliver off to get it to fit.
  • So, I cut all of the papers and adhered with glue to make sure all of the edges got covered well. Then, I took scissors to round out the corners for the front and back.
  • Then, I glued down the inside box and assembled it. After that, I decided to glue down the left side to the outside of the book box, but this step is optional.
  • Once that was done, I decided where the magnet should go on the front cover and hot-glued it in place. Then, I made the frame from the Something Fancy dies, and glued it down.
  • After that, I stamped the “thank you” sentiment from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set and the large flower in Blackberry Bliss ink and cropped it out with the smaller die from the Something Fancy dies. Then, it was popped up with dimensionals onto the front of the box.
  • I started stamping the flower and the leaves from the Regal Flora stamp set, cropped those out with their coordinating dies, then they were glued to the box front.
  • Once that was done, I used a blending brush dipped in Blackberry Bliss ink and brushed it lightly onto a scrap of white cardstock. Then, I cropped out the butterfly from the Sketched Butterflies dies and glued it to the box.
  • Finally, I added a few of the Neutral Sequins for a little touch of sparkle.

There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be Home for the Holidays.

I’m still missing my little cutie patootie but will have him this coming weekend! I got him some Play-Doh (might have been a mistake but too late now) and he made some characters with some paper shapes I had kept for long enough! I’m now looking for some mess-free activities, any suggestions??

  1. Definitely not finger paints for Noah…lol! Your card and box are absolutely beautiful. That was the only pattern/color I liked in the package so I didn’t order it. Have a blessed weekend with your handsome grandson.

  5. Beautiful card and box, Debbie! Such gorgeous paper!

Some fun ideas you may have already tried with Noah are Crayola Color Wonders (the markers only show up on the special coloring pages) and paint with water books where the colors show up when the page is wet but then fade when dry so you can paint on them again. I actually bought some scented Play-doh for Sawyer, but I haven’t taken it out of the packaging yet. I may wait a few more months since he’s not quite 2 1/2 yet.
