Stampin’ Up! Round We Go Card for the Alphabet Challenge

Hi, Stampers!

A new Alphabet Challenge starts today with the theme, “P is for Party” so I had to get a bit creative for this one. After some thought, I decided that I could make a festive birthday card from the Round We Go bundle, this time using the stamps and dies that coordinate with them. I was looking through my oooold stash of card bases and found one that was perfect for my project! I’m just sorry I don’t remember where I got it.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with a new SU color I hadn’t used yet, Azure Afternoon. So, I cut the cardstock to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored it at 4-1/4.
  • After that, I cut the old card base to 5-1/4 x 4 and adhered it to the card base.

And now, the fun part!

  • I decided to play with the stamps in the Round We Go stamp sets, so I inked up the large stamp first with Melon Mambo and finished it with Peach Pie ink. Once that was done, I cut it out with the coordinating die.
  • Then, I inked up the second one, first with Azure Afternoon, again with Garden Green, and cut it out with the coordinating die.
  • After that, I cut out the other dies with Azure Afternoon and Peach Pie cardstock.
  • The sentiment was inked up in Azure Afternoon ink and stamped onto white cardstock, then I punched it out with 1-3/4 Circle Punch. After that, I cut out Melon Mambo cardstock with the die and layered these two together. Then, I stamped the Hip Hip Hooray stamp with Melon Mambo ink, cut it out with the Something Fancy banner die, and glued it to the sentiment.
  • Finally, I added Glossy Dots around the front to add more sparkle.

Then, on the inside…

  • Inside continues the celebration with white cardstock, ran it through my die cutting machine with a stitched die.
  • After that, I stamped the Happy Birthday from Round We Go stamp set and added the fun stars in all of the fun colors I used on the front.

I hope to share my card with these challenges:

Our weather here in Chicago has been all over the place! We have had 80 degree days and now back into the 40-50’s, but when it’s a beautiful autumn day, Noah needs to get his energy out. Riding his bike and playing with his airplane launcher are at the top of his list!
