Hi, Stampers!
A new Alphabet Challenge starts today with the theme, “S is for Silent Night” and my Alphabet pal, Melissa, is the host. What a perfect theme for the holiday season, right? I had a couple of choices for stamp sets but Humble Home is so cute, which is why I used it. I also used the great Nests of Winter designer paper to create the pretty winter sky. The blended inks around the edges really added to the “silent night” theme, so I love how this card turned out. Humble Home will stay in my stash because it can be used for welcoming someone into their new home, thank you’s for gifts and party invitations ~ you name it!
Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!
My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base for this Humble Home card…
- A2 Card Base: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4
- Front Layer:
- Cardstock cut to 4 x 5-1/4
- DSP cut to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8. Then, I began sponging the edges with Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, and Berry Burst inks, leaving the inside uninked. After that, I ran it through my die cutting machine in the Snowflake Sky embossing folder, and sanded the top of the panel to create snowflakes or does it look more like stars?
- The final addition to the background was adding a piece of the retired white velvet sheet, cut with a stitched die to make a layer of snow on the ground.
And now, the fun part!
- So, to start the focal point of the card, I inked the Humble Home stamp onto Crumb Cake cardstock with versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. After that, I rimmed the edge of the house with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends marker and added some Daffodil Delight to the windows.
- Then, I inked the trees from In The Grove stamp set with Lost Lagoon ink and cut them out with the coordinating die.
- Once that was done, I inked up the “peace on earth” stamp from the Christmas Labels stamp set and cut it out with one of the coordinating dies. Then, it was popped up with dimensionals on the card base.
- In order to keep the house and trees level on the card, I adhered the bottom of each piece and added dimensionals.
- Finally, I added some small rhinestones for some sparkle.
Then, on the inside…
- After that, to finish the card, I made a panel of Lost Lagoon, cut to 4 x 5-1/4 then cut white cardstock with the largest Postage die. However, once it was adhered to the Lost Lagoon, I decided that the Lost Lagoon was too big. So, I trimmed it down to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 and liked it so much better.
- The sentiment from Christmas Labels stamp set was inked up with Lost Lagoon, which leaves plenty of room for a special message for a special someone.

If you want your kids to like sardines, you have to introduce it to them early! Noah loved them and ate the entire tin! He asked “how could they fit in there if they were that big?” LOL
Sweet card! My father loved sardines and would have them for lunch…NOT ME…lol!
Fabulous card!
