Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!
Hi, Stampers! We have a great blog hop of fun fold crafters today, so I know you will enjoy the inspiration this month. There’s a lineup below to make it easy for you to hop along and see the great inspiration from other creative SU demonstrators. So, for my project today, I made a Faux Side Step card using two new stamp sets from the new mini catalog. My family doesn’t do Valentine’s Day but you express your love 365 days a year! The Heart Shaped stamp set with coordinating dies are great to add to my collection and the Elements of Text added the great rustic look I was going for. This fun fold is easier that the original where you are doing cuts into the cardstock to create the step. Therefore, this card base was created quickly, leaving more time for the “fun” stuff!

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Card Base #1:
- Firstly, the Faux Step card started with cardstock that was cut to 8 x 5-1/2 and scored at 3, 6, and 7. Fold and burnish the scoreline into mountain-valley-mountain folds.
- DSP Panel #1: cut to 5-1/4 x 2-3/4
- DSP Panel #2: cut to 5-1/4 x 3/4
- Card Base #2: cardstock cut to 6 x 3 and scored at 4-1/4.
- DSP: cut to 4 x 2-3/4
- White cardstock: cut to 3-1/2 x 2-1/2
Now, the FUN Part!
- For the focal image on the white cardstock, I first stamped the image from Elements of Text in Basic Beige ink. Then, the edges were inked up with the spots and sponged.
- After that, I stamped the heart from Heart Shaped stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink.
- The Heart die-cut was cut in Basic Beige cardstock.
- Then, I stamped the sentiment from Heart Shaped stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink and cropped out with the die in the Greetings of the Season dies. I tied a bow with the Linen Thread.
- Lastly, I thought the “Love” in the February 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit was perfect for this card. So, I stamped it with Misty Moonlight ink and cropped it out with another Greetings of the Season die.
- Once all of the layers were done, I adhered Card Base #2 to the bottom of the front panel, then folded the card up to let the back part adhere to the back of the card.
Then, on the inside…

- For the inside of the card, I wanted to leave it blank for the personal message.
- Cardstock cut to 5-1/4 x 2-3/4 and white cardstock cut to 5-1/8 x 2-5/8. The two layers were adhered together. Then, I added three of the new gold Heart Sequins to the inside and three more to the front.
Now, head to the Lineup below to see even more fun fold inspiration!
