Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Moments for the Inspiration Station

Create this card using Beautiful Moments by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets To Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Inspiration Station Challenge starts today and I decided to use the Beautiful Moments stamp set, now retired, to make this Mother’s Day card. The Mixed Media Floral designer paper is so pretty, and I decided to color in between the flowers instead of the flowers themselves. It adds just the right touch to accent the pretty image. I haven’t made a Mother’s Day card in over 10 years since my mum passed away, but the inspiration photo just begged for one. It’s such a sweet photo!

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this 6″ square card started with cardstock that was 12 x 6 and scored at 6.
  • Then, I cut the Mixed Media Floral designer paper with the square die from my non-SU stash and colored it with a light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends just enough to give it a bit of color. I was not trying to cover the entire area at all.
  • After that, I layered it onto black cardstock then Petal Pink cardstock before layering it onto the card base.

And now, the fun part!

  • I stamped the Beautiful Moments image onto white cardstock and colored the images. After that, I stamped the “I grew up loved” from the A Good Man stamp set in the corner. Then, I cropped it out with the Textured Notes die and layered it onto black cardstock.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment from Perennial Postage and cropped it out with the small square Postage die and popped it up with dimensionals. By doing this, I didn’t need to layer it with more cardstock because it created enough of a shadow to make it stand out on its own.
  • Still wanting to incorporate more punches into my cards, I used the Flowers & Leaves Punch to make two flowers that I colored with Stampin’ Blends and used the Faceted Gems for the centers of each flower.
  • Finally, I added three of the Shimmer Gems to the sentiment to finish the card.

I hope to share my card with these challenges:
