Stampin’ Up! Gallery Blooms Card for Let’s Craft and Create #219

Hi, Stampers!

Are you ready for a new Let’s Craft and Create Challenge? I’m usually all about the gorgeous designer paper, but this week’s challenge forced me to get creative. Gallery Blooms is just beautiful and paired perfectly with the texture and layers I added for depth. And don’t even get me started on Secret Sea—this new In Color might look almost black at first glance, but it’s soft, subtle, and seriously going to be my new go-to. It’s elegant without being stark. Think classic black with a gentle twist. Love it!

The new Annual Catalog launches tomorrow, and you’re going to want to get your hands on this bundle. It is sure to be a top seller! If you’re a texture-over-pattern kinda crafter (even if only occasionally), the new catalog has what you’re looking for. Want a peek inside or need a shopping link? Just drop a comment below or message me! Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

This photo does a better job showing the texture on the card front.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with the new Secret Sea cardstock, cut to 11 x 4-1/4 and scored at 5-1/2.
  • I was looking for something with texture to use as a background and found the Wood Textured paper. I had kept a piece that had already been cut with a “contraband” die and thought it was perfect to elevate the look of the Gallery Bloom image.
  • Then, I cut a piece of Secret Sea cardstock to 2-1/2 x 4 and dry embossed it with the Exposed Brick embossing folder.
  • After that, I cut more of the Wood Textured paper with the Textured Notes die and popped it up with dimensionals.

And now, the fun part!

  • So, the fun begins! I stamped the beautiful Gallery Blooms image with Secret Sea ink onto white cardstock. Then, I began coloring the image with Stampin’ Blends markers (colors used are below).
  • Once that was done, I cut out all of the wonderful foliage dies in the Gallery Blooms collection and colored them with the same Stampin’ Blends.
  • I stamped the sentiments from the brand new More Messages (one stamp inks up so many sentiments to keep handy with one die to cut them all out at once.
  • Finally, I added my favorite collection of embellishments that is officially retiring today, Tinsel Gems!

Then, on the inside…

  • For the inside of the card, I cut white cardstock with the largest Everyday Arches die and adhered it to the inside.
  • Then, I chose the sentiment from More Messages stamp set that were already stamped and cut out. I adhered it to the card base. Finally, I cut out the floral image from Secret Sea cardstock and glued it in place. Easy!
