Stampin’ Up! Mixed Florals Card for the Creative Crafters Challenge

Create this card using Mixed Florals by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

Happy New Year! A new Creative Crafters Challenge starts today, and we have lots of inspiration to get you playing in your craft room. I scored a good price for the Mixed Florals stamp set and dies, so I got it out to make this card with the new Nature Walk designer paper. I love the way this card turned out!

Ready to get your creative juices flowing? Head over to the gallery for a dose of inspiration, and if you’re feeling crafty, come play along with us!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this card started with cardstock, cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4.
  • Then, I cut the Nature Walk designer paper to 5-1/4 x 4 and sponged the edges with a sponge with Early Espresso ink.

And now, the fun part!

  • After that, I stamped the beautiful flower stamp from the Mixed Florals and colored it with Stampin’ Blends (colors listed below). Once that was done, I cut it out with the coordinating die.
  • I cut out two of the Mixed Florals large foliage dies with the Nature Walk designer paper.
  • Next, I cut more of the Nature Walk paper with a large Perennial Postage die and sponged the edges. Before popping it up with dimensionals, I adhered the large piece of foliage to the card base and wrapped it with linen thread. Then, I added the second one to the front.
  • The flower image was cut in half and layered on top.
  • Finally, I stamped the sentiment from The Right Words in Mossy Meadow ink and cropped it out with the small Perennial Postage die, sponged the edges, and popped it up with dimensionals.

I hope to share my card with these challenges:

Noah’s mom sent me this photo and I just love it. Know why? The headlamp he’s wearing on his way to read books in bed was one of the presents I gave him for his birthday. Adam (dad) said, “I didn’t understand you giving him that for his birthday but I tell you, Mom, he’s loves it more than all the Legos he got.” That just gave me all the feels a grandmother needs! It’s the little things we do that makes them happy, in my opinion.

And I’m so happy that there were two headlamps in the box because Adam said he loves it, too!

  1. Beautiful card, Debbie. I love the colors and the sweet sentiment. Great pic of Noah and lovely story about the headlamps. Enjoy your day!

  2. That is a gorgeous card, Debbie. However, I liked best today that adorable Noah.
Kids have the cutest little feet – I so well recall how I loved those miniature miracles on my kids’ feet when young. Noah made your day with his love for his head lamp…and your post made MY day!

  3. I love how you used this paper-it’s such a masculine looking bunch, and I was wondering why I bought it! You’ve changed my mind and now I must go CASE this card! And LOL with the headlamp- Mike got me one for walking the dog in the wee hours of the morning, but thanks to Noah I’m going to use it for secret night time reading! Coolest. Grandma. Ever!

  4. Such a beautiful card. I just love the greenery in the background. Thanks for sharing with us at PIP Challenges.

  5. Gorgeous, love the rustic feel it has with the colours, very pretty. Thank you for joining us at We Love Stamping again, its always a pleasure to see your creations. Emma

  6. A beautifully designed card with great details and wonderful sketch! And loving the photo of Noah. That headlamp is genius! I have a little clip-on reading light that you clip onto the book. Which works well but seems to need readjusting contantly. That wouldn’t happen with a headlamp so I can totally see why Noah and Adam both love it!
So great to see you at my Garden Party this time, thank you for joining in!
