How is your weather this weekend? The weather here in Michigan is getting cooler this week and it has me thinking about cool weather activities, like what my husband and I did today – driving around looking at the leaves changing colors, visiting area apple farms (bought wonderful Honeycrisp apples!), and drinking hot apple cider. It was a beautiful afternoon and here in Michigan you never let one of those pass you by! Sure enough, it is now raining so I am very happy we enjoyed it while we could! My husband has to be prompted to feel good about Fall because he just sees it as a sign for impending snow! My philosophy is that we should just enjoy what we have right now. Whatever you have – good or bad – will surely pass.
Spending the day like that naturally made me think about the upcoming season and realize that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Since all of my family live in Atlanta Georgia, we don’t get to spend it with them, so I will be sending them all cards this year. Here is my first one (it’s NOT for you, Katy!) that I have made. I absolutely love punch art so I have always wanted to make those cute pumpkins that I have seen on Pinterest. What do you think? I debated making the sentiment the focal point of the card or the pumpkins, but in the end, I decided to at least make the pumpkins stand out on this one. I really like it!
It’s All in the Details
- Stamp Set: Tags 4 You
- Paper: Bermuda Bay, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Whisper White Cardstock
- Ink: Early Espresso
- Cool Tools: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Large Oval Punches, Bird Builder Punch, Label Bracket Punch
- Finishing Touch: Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon, Linen thread
Tip of the Day: Don’t forget to use your Color Coach! I doubt that I would have put these colors together on my own but this was one of the color combinations suggested for Cajun Craze. Wowza! I love them together!
I sponged the edges of the pumpkin pieces with Early Espresso to accentuate the layers. I also stamped a second sentiment onto Cajun Craze and just cut out the THANKS and popped it up with dimensionals.
I hope you like my card today! If you do, would you please leave me a comment and let me know? I would love to know what signs of Fall you enjoy the most! While you are doing that, I just want to remind you of the great specials that Stampin’ Up! has going on right now to celebrate their 25th Anniversary! Please take advantage of those while they are available. I am looking for stampers who want to have fun AND save 20% on ALL of their products! If that is something that would interest YOU, please email me! I would love to introduce you to the most amazing stamping group that I have the utmost pleasure to be a member of. Happy Fall!
Keep calm and craft on!
Debbie
This card is lovely and has the crispness of a fall day. The layout made me think of looking over a fence rail that had a sign hanging over it, into the distant field of pumpkins with the setting sun behind them. Spent early years in East Point GA, a suburb of Atlanta

Gorgeous card, Debbie! And thanks for the reminder to dust off the Color Coach. It really helps me think outside the box when it comes to color combos.
Stunning, Debbie! Love the colors, the details, the embossing, the pumpkin and leaves… did I miss anything, LOL! Honestly, this is a lovely card and I wish it were mine! I know that many people dislike Autumn because they think of the changes as “going away/dying”. I think of it as resting and it is such a welcome respite from the normally hot days of Summer. Fall is like a breath of fresh air; it is undoubtedly my favorite time of year! Enjoy! Hugs!!
Oh such an amazing, wonderful card my friend! You are so creative – Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us.
Fab card. Love the colors.
I’ve been saving this card for awhile to CASE for my class this month. My ladies will love it, I’m sure! Thanks for great ideas.
