Hello!
It’s my little sister’s birthday! I thought Tea Party would bring back some special memories! When we were little, my mother and older sisters would drink hot tea. My mother was from Liverpool England and high tea, especially over a game of cards or Aggravation was quite the ritual. The problem was that she wouldn’t let my little sister or me have any – it would “stunt our growth” according to my mother. Denise (my little sister and cohort in crime) and I would wait till everyone left the room and would drain the cups as fast as we could. Stunt my growth? Well, I am the tallest in my family, so I feel that the tea didn’t hurt me one bit!
OK, now you see why the stamp set spoke to me! The colors for this card were chosen from the gift I sent her. You gotta coordinate your cards and gifts, right?! That is half the fun of making your own cards! The card base is Crushed Curry, which is a color that I have not been able to put away for weeks. It really is the perfect color for Fall. Next, I used Bermuda Bay and ran it through the Big Shot in the retired Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder. (Please, Stampin’ Up!, bring it back! It is one of my favorites and will never let it go!!) The Ovals Collection Framelits were perfect for the stamp and I ran the large one through the Big Shot as well, this time using my other favorite – and current – Fancy Fan Embossing Folder. I believe that the embellishments make any card special so I brought out my Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon, layered it with the Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Ribbon, which I just bought and totally love. The bow made from the 5/8″ Crochet Trim, topped with a Very Vintage Designer Button with a little Bermuda Bay ribbon for color. The Sentiment is from Label Love and punched with the coordinating punch, which doesn’t get any easier.

Here is the inside. I love that little teapot so I thought it would be perfect for the inside of the card. The sentiment is from Chalk Talk which was punched out with the oval punch.
So, I hope you like my card today, but, more importantly, I hope Denise liked it! Family has always been so important to me and not living close enough to see them very often is very sad for me. Denise and I were practically inseparable as children so I wish for her to be the happy, “bold one” this year and always! Love you, Denise!
Until next time,
Keep calm and craft on!
Debbie ♥
