I have a question for you: if you could get Stampin’ Up! to never retire one stamp set (i.e. Lovely as a Tree), which one would it be? Which set do you think would never get old, never get boring, always be “timeless.” My answer without a doubt is Simply Sketched. I love this sketched bird and the sketched flower is stunning! Granted, this was not the card I started out with this afternoon, but I definitely love the results that I finally got. Now, I have to figure out how my craft room could have exploded just from this card! This card started out with Life in the Forest stamp set – first with the little mouse, then with the little rabbit. It just wasn’t working so I scrapped most of it (the vines and flowers are glued down so they stayed put) and went to my favorite stamp set and it did not disappoint. I love the new Hardwood background stamp! Doesn’t it look really great with Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla? I will be doing this combination again. I wanted a punch of color but I may have overdone it just a tad! haha I love the Dahlias and just wish they would make them in all of the colors. Those little mushrooms are darling and add that little touch of whimsy.

I am having some issues with WordPress. I am not sure if my email notifications are going out so if you are here because you got one, would you please let me know? I am going to have to change my blog – again – so come back this week and check it out! I have a Simply Created Kit that will go to one random visitor who leaves me a comment this weekend. You can leave it on any of my cards that you like. And while you are at it, would you also make sure that you are signed up for email notifications and “like” my Facebook page? Thanks!! If I can help you with anything, just send me an email. Till next time,
Happy Stampin’!
Debbie ♥
What a wonderful card! A balanced mix of color and whimsy yet still masculine enough for a “man’s man” – I love it!
I really like this card so went looking for the components in the catalog. I found the bird is from SIMPLY SKETCHED 129669 or C- 129673, one of the hostess sets. and NOT Sketched Birthday, just in case someone else likes the card as much as I do
Thanks for checking behind me! I have updated my info.
Debbie this card is so sweet. I love the way you take the beautiful simple bird and make it a central part if thus great card. Simple and clean. I love it. Thank for sharing. Ellen Hinds
What a great card, Debbie! My first thought was “masculine” but the whimsy makes it cute enough to be appreciated by a female as well. I do love the crumb cake hardwood against the VV cardstock. Now I have to find my mushroom stamp also! Nicely done!!
You may want to change the tag as well… 😉
