Baby We’ve Grown Gatefold Card

It’s baby season, have you noticed? I cannot believe how many women are expecting right now. If you are in the situation of needing to make a really special baby card, the Baby We’ve Grown stamp set from the Celebrate the Everyday catalog is the perfect set to use! I had the best day creating this card. I made it for the Creative Crew May Photograph challenge [Holiday Focus: National Photograph Month – Create a card that looks like a photograph by putting a border around your image and making the image glossy. You may use On Film Framelits or make your own, you may use window sheets for glossiness or crystal effects.]

It started with making the gatefold in Daffodil Delight, using the Finishing Touches Edgelits. I cut all of the pieces from the DSP for both sides. Then I made the focal point from the On Film framelit and cut cardstock to make a frame. The 1/8″ Daffodil Delight ribbon is the perfect size to thread through the holes and adds a really sweet touch. A small piece of window sheet covers the stamped image. The best feature about this card is that there is still enough room to insert a wallet-sized baby photo because I popped the framelit up with dimensionals. I stamped the images for the side panels and the front was complete.

Here is the opposite side, which is actually the front panels when the card is closed, and the back of the card which I made to have a pocket for a tab for your sentiment and signature. Since this card is really meant to be on display, I thought the sentiment would be best on the back. Of course, no card is really complete to me until there are pearls or candy dots and, because I loved this card so much, it just had to have both! This card was a BLAST to make! I really hope you see something on it that you would like to use.
