Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
This is a Bendi Card, my stampin’ friends! The concept of a bendi card is a three sided gate card that has tabs and slits so that the front is curved. I have to admit that this fun fold card intimidated me quite a bit but I do love the results! I suggest making the card base before decorating it so you can see what works. I used some fun products, (current and some retiring or retired). The butterflies are covered in Wink of Stella but the angle of the photo can’t pick it up. There are literally endless ways to make this card so I hope you will give it a go! You can use this Splitcoaststampers tutorial to get started. Here are a couple more photos:
IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS
- Stamp Sets: Happy Birthday Everyone (retiring), Petite Petals, Papillon Potpourri, Cottage Greetings (retiring) – on back of card
- Paper: Botanical Gardens (retiring), Color Me Irresistible (retiring), In Color DSP Stack
- Ink: Mint Macaron
- Cool Tools: Labels Framelits (retired), Ovals Collection Framelits (retiring), Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Bird Builder Punch (retiring), 7/8″ and 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punches, Rose Garden Thinlits
- Finishing Touch: It’s My Party Enamel Dots, Wink of Stella
Thanks for visiting! To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below.

WOW!! I LOVE this card Debbie.
OMGosh, Debbie…. this card is AMAZING! No simple gatefold card here! Not only is the fun fold fun to look at, but your choice of colors, details and textures has resulted in a beautiful card that I desperately want to touch!! I have pinned it 3 times so as not to lose where to find this, LOL…
Oh, so gorgeous. I love a good Bendi card and your beautiful masterpiece has my mind dancing with other possibilities!

Such a pretty card! A Bendi card is on my list to make, too, Debbie! I bet the butterfly is gorgeous with the Wink of Stella!
this is a stunning card! Love the technique and can’t wait to give it a try. You had such a pretty color combination, and the way you included all the elements make a true work of art.
FABULOUS, that’s all I can say. Love this card. You did a great job on it.
Babe
