Hello, my Stampin’ friends!
I hope you had a wonderful, crafty weekend! I made some crafting time while the Olumpic events were doing some activities that I can take my eyes away from – Track and Field, for example. The commentators keep you up to date on who is in first and who is coming up to pass whom. That’s the way I watch TV, well, listen is more like it. Anyway, I made this card during Track and Field events, using Thoughtful Branches. I hope you have gotten this bundle by now because it will only be available till August 31st. It is worth every dollar you spend and it will be in your stash forever. Thoughtful Branches is so versatile and the sentiments are great, too!
IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS – THOUGHTFUL BRANCHES
For this card, I wanted an all occasion sentiment so I went to my other favorite tree set, Sheltering Tree and used one of its sentiments. The birds represent the Goldfinches that I feed all year round up here in Michigan. The males are always a deeper color than the females so I used two different colors of ink for them, Crushed Curry and So Saffron. Serene Scenery DSP Stack was perfect for the landscape scene. Then, I popped the tree’s leaves up on craft foam and the “fence” was from a leftover piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon that I had split down the middle. It frays so be careful. I know it ended up not very straight due to the glue dots I placed but since it is supposed to be a fence I am okay with that LOL. You will see the other half of this ribbon tomorrow so stay tuned…

What a sweet and restful scene you have created, Debbie!! I have goldfinches in my back yard also. They use the ant guard water holders on my hummingbird feeders as their personal water container. Love your use of the DSP Serene Scenery. So many wonderful patterns in that paper stack. Off to pin…..
