Carols of Christmas for the Pals Blog Hop

Carols of Christmas Three-Fold Mini Album

I love making gifts for the Holidays and this one was so much fun to make. One of my favorite papercraft designers, Autumn Clark, created a tutorial for this project so I thought it would be a fun one to try. I used the wonderful new stamp set, Carols for Christmas (and modified the measurements for the mini album just a tad). It is the perfect stamp set for your holiday cards! I love this stamp set and will be getting it inky for many holidays to come.

It’s All in the Details

Card Base

• This project started with 12″ x 12″ Kraft cardstock. I cut one side to 8″ then scored the short side at 2″ and the long side at 4″ and 8″.
• Merry Music Specialty DSP is a must-have for your holiday cards! I cut it to fit the panels (3 3/4″ x 5 3/4″) then sponged the entire surface with Crumb Cake, then stamped each panel with the Post Script background stamp. After crumpling each panel to add to the vintage look, I sponged the fold lines just a little. It was finally ready to adhere to the panels.
• Vintage Crochet Trim was adhered to the ends where the flap meets then the flap edge was adhered to the card base in order to wrap it closed and secure with a bow. After the flap was secured, more crochet trim was glued down to the edge of the flap.
• Another pattern of the DSP was cut (3 3/4″ x 1 3/4″) then sponged with Crumb Cake. After that, I adhered it to the flaps. Two Snowflakes were cut down the middle and adhered to the flaps.

Tags

• I inked up the two sentiments, one from Carols of Christmas and the other from Snowflake Sentiments, onto Whisper White cardstock then cropped them with Layering Circles Framelits. They were sponged on the edges as well as over the surface.
• The leftover Kraft cardstock was cut with Lots of Labels Framelits, but only on one end. I cut the paper to stick through one end of the framelit to make a tag. The edges were then sponged with Crumb Cake ink.
• I adhered two Foil Snowflakes (top one is on the white side, then layered onto another one on the gold side) to the tags then layered the sentiments on the top.
• My son married in July! I cut the photo from the ceremony to fit the panel, then layered it onto a snowflake and adhered it to the middle panel.
• The tags with the sentiments aren’t adhered to the card base, leaving them very versatile. I may continue to play with them, because you know how I don’t like negative space LOL.
