My Card Today

My card for you today is a holiday gift card holder that is so easy to make that you will want to make one for everyone on your gift list this year! After making the card base, I used Celebrate With Tags and the new Framed & Festive stamp sets with the gorgeous Boughs of Holly designer paper. This gift card holder coordinates with the card I posted on Wednesday and you can see that card HERE.

My Secrets!

  • Firstly, Beth McCullough’s card inspired me to create this gift card holder. I used her tutorial but changed some of the measurements just a little.
  • A2 Card Measurements:
    • card base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 2-1/2″ and 5-1/2″
    • Card Front – Large Panel Cardstock (CS): 5-1/4 x 4
    • Outside Pocket Panel CS: 2-3/4 x 4
    • Inside Pocket Panel CS: 2-1/4 x 4
    • Focal Image Panel CS: 3 x 3
    • Card Front – Large Panel Designer Paper (DSP): 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
    • Outside Pocket Panel DSP: 3-7/8 x 2-5/8
    • Inside Pocket Panel DSP: 2-1/8 x 3-7/8
    • Focal Image Panel DSP: 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 (I used the largest square in Stylish Squares)
  • Once all my paper was cut, then I easily adhered them onto the card base.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • After the card was assembled, all that was left was to cut the “merry” from the Christmas Greetings dies (retired), then stamped the “Christmas” from Framed & Festive stamp set (part of the great Fitting Florets Suite available now). The sentiment was cut out with the banner die from Stylish Shapes, then popped up with dimensionals onto the focal image.
  • After that, I cut out two of the outline leaves from the Framed Florets dies and glued them underneath the banner. Then, I added red rhinestones onto the leaves.
  • Finally, I stamped the “from all of us” and cropped out with the small die. After that, I just had to adhere it to the pocket and this gift card holder was done and ready to give to someone!

I get such a kick out of seeing how much Noah loves this train set since his father had loved it just as much! I am so happy that I saved it all these years.
