Hi, Stampers!
A new Make My Monday challenge is starting today and the theme is “Aperture Card”. Confession time – I am currently on vacation and, because of my long-awaited visit from older daughter Holly (visiting from Australia), I wasn’t going to participate in this one. However, the heat and humidity have been too much to bear and I had just ordered a few kits when SU had a sale on them last week so brought them along. When I opened up the February 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit, Sunshine & Smiles, all of the card bases were aperture! So, I just had to make something with it and will try to prove to you all that these kits really are fun!
Once you finish here, I hope you visit the Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, the only logical place to start with a Paper Pumpkin kit is to unpack it and see all of the great supplies you get. Wow, this kit had everything you need for 9 adorable cards including envelopes, so the creativity can be endless, especially if you are home and can combine it with items already in your stash. However, I only brought the kits, Stamparatus, a small trimmer, glue/adhesive, dimensionals, stamp cleaners, black ink, and a pair of scissors. Oh, I also brought white cardstock, as well – not too much because I had to travel “light” LOL!
- After that, I looked at each of the cards on the instruction sheet and decided that the one with the kite was the one I wanted to make.
And now, the fun part!
- Since I’m not one to follow instructions, I just started working on the inside – glued down the grass and flowers, then stamped the sun with Mango Melody ink (included in the kit). A little later, I also wanted a little life so I added the sweet little frog.
- After that, I started decorating the card front by placing the kite where I wanted it with mini glue dots and glued the adorable bunny down. Because I am not a minimalist by any stretch of the imagination, I also added the cloud and the cute little duck.
- Then, I stamped the sentiment onto the included tag and popped it up with dimensionals to finish it off.

Then, on the back…
- Confession #2: I have pretty bad handwriting now (I used to be praised by my teachers for my beautiful penmanship – what happened??), so I wanted a place to put a personal message that wouldn’t ruin the look of the card and decided that the back of the card would be great to hide it.
- So, I cut white cardstock to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and stamped the sentiment in black ink. Then, I added this panel to the back of the card base.
- Finally, I added the turtle and flowers to add just a bit more whimsy.

Reasons to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin…
- Firstly, it includes everything you need to complete a craft project, including stamps and ink.
- Directions and photos are included. In addition, a short YouTube video showing how to make the project is available.

- It’s a great chance for you to:
