Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

Hi, Stampers! We have a great blog hop of fun fold crafters today so I know you will enjoy the inspiration this month. There’s a lineup below to make it easy for you to hop along and see all of the great inspiration from other creative SU demonstrators. This fun fold is called a Double Gatefold, which is a fun variation to the regular gatefold. It was a great fold to try with the new Linked Together bundle. I love the beautiful patterned papers in the Mixed Media paper pack, part of the new mini catalog that will be available in January.

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, this A2 card started with cardstock, cut to 5-1/2 x 12, and scored at 2, 4, 8, and 10. Then, I cut down each side panel to the 2-3/4 mark on the edges of both sides.
- DSP #1: 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 (2 or 4)
- DSP #2: 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 (4)
- Secret: After cutting the DSP panels, I found the easiest way to make sure I cut the angles right, I laid the DSP behind the card base (held it with a post-it) and marked the edge of the card base onto the DSP. Then, it was easy to cut it to the correct length on the straight edge.
- Cardstock or DSP Panel: 3-3/4 x 5-1/4 and white cardstock, 3-5/8 x 5-1/8 for the inside personal message
Now, the FUN Part!
- Once all of panels are adhered together and to the card base, I stamped the “Happy Birthday” from the Unbounded Love in Boho Blue ink to the inside panel.
Then, onto the belly band…

- The belly band was made with Boho Blue cardstock, cut a piece that was 11 x 1, scored it at 3″ and wrapped it loosely around the folded card and cut the ends with a overlap of about 1-1/2″. I cut two pieces of the DSP to 3/4″ width and adhered them to the belly band.
- Then, I cut the large square die from the Stylish Shapes collection. After that, I stamped the “Enjoy” stamp from the new Linked Together stamp set and cut it out with the wonderful oval die from the coordinating die collection. I cut a couple more ovals to layer underneath the sentiment.
- Once that was done, I cut out the flowers and branches in white cardstock, then I colored the flowers with Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.
- The entire panel was popped up with dimensionals onto the belly band.
- Finally, I added the Faux Glass Dots to the centers of the flowers.
