Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Expressions for Inspiration Station Challenge

Create this card using Thoughtful Expressions by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets To Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Inspiration Station Challenge starts today, I had the perfect (and retired!) stamp for this—the sweetest little bunny in the Nature’s Beauty stamp set. I paired it with the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set and the impressionist Thoughtful Journey paper to bring it all together. And because I love a good creative twist, I designed the gatefold fun fold on the back side for a fresh new look. This card was easy to make so you should give it a go!

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this A2 fun fold card started with cardstock, cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 1-1/2, 2-5/8, 5-5/8 and 7. Then, the score lines were folded to a “valley/mountain/mountain/valley” configuration and burnished with a bone folder.
  • Panels:
    • Center panel used white cardstock, cut to 5-1/4 x 3 and DSP, cut to 5-1/8 x 2-7/8
    • Two side panels used white cardstock, cut to 5-1/4 x 1-1/4, and DSP, cut to 5-1/8 x 1-1/8
  • After that, I adhered the panels together and added them to the card base.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once that was done, I stamped the bunny image in Pecan Pie ink and cropped it out with the new Textured Notes dies (available to order on March 4th). I love the etched pattern along the edges!
  • Then, to help it blend in with the background paper, I sponged it with Misty Moonlight on the top and Mossy Meadow along the bottom with my blending brushes. After that, I popped it up with dimensionals onto the card base.
  • The sentiment from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set was inked up with Mossy Meadow ink and cropped out with the Greetings of the Season die. I tied a small piece of the Braided Linen Trim into the end of the piece and frayed the ends with my piercing tool.

Then, on the back…

  • The panel for a personal message started with more of the DSP, this time cut to 5-1/4 x 3, and white cardstock, cut to 5-1/8 x 2-7/8. Then, I stamped the sentiment from the Round We Go stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink onto the white cardstock.

Noah was so happy that we were able to break our fast at sunset. Of course, he didn’t fast but breaking our fast together is always wonderful. He was really happy to eat his chicken and humus.

  2. I had forgotten about that bunny! I’ll have to get it out for a spring or Easter card. Great card. Do you make your own hummus?
