Stampin’ Up! Gallery Blooms and You Are Remarkable for Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Hi, Stampers!

This month’s theme is “Flowers in Bloom.” The Pals hope to inspire you with card ideas and paper craft creations using Stampin’ Up! products. Links to the Pals’ blogs are at the end of each post to help you “hop” along! This card turned out so pretty, I almost don’t want to give it away. I played with a Spanner Panel fold—a fancy kind that looks way harder than it is—and used the new Gallery Blooms and You Are Remarkable stamp sets. I wanted a soft spring vibe, so I layered in the Mixed Media Floral papers. The florals in Gallery Blooms are so pretty—whether you’re in the mood to color or not. It’s hands-down one of my favorite new sets in the new Annual Catalog for a reason!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this Spanner Panel card started with cardstock, cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4 on the 8-1/2 side.
  • Then, I cut one end at 1-1/4 on both ends to create the side panels.
  • Panel Measurements:
    • Middle Panel: Cardstock: 4 x 2-3/4, DSP: 3-7/8 x 2-5/8
    • Side Panels: Cardstock: 4 x 1, DSP: 3-7/8 x 7/8
    • Inside: Cardstock: 4 x 5-1/4, White cardstock: 3-13/16 x 4-15/16 (or use 3-7/8 x 5-1/8)

And now, the fun part!

  • I love that DSP makes this card so easy to finish. All I did for the card front was stamp the sentiment from the You Are Remarkable stamp set in Old Olive ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Then, I cropped it out with the Everyday Arches die and another one from the Old Olive paper to layer with it.
  • After that, I stamped the pretty flower from the new Gallery Blooms stamp set in Pecan Pie ink and colored with with Stampin’ Blends markers. Once that was done, I used the coordinating die to crop it out.
  • So, with a spanner panel card, you make a “bridge” from one side panel to the other. Ordinarily, this bridge is made with a piece of window sheet/acetate, but I decided to try something different. I used the coordinating vellum and cut it with the Nested Essential die. I liked it but decided it needed more support, so I layered it onto top of two Very Vanilla cardstock pieces, cut from the same die. One of the them was adhered to the vellum (glue dots placed where the flowers will go) and the second one is on the inside of the card and held in place with dimensionals.
  • Finally, I added the Glass Dots to the sentiment to add some sparkle.

Then, on the inside…

  • The inside panels were cut to size. After that, I stamped the foliage with Old Olive ink in first and second generation ink. Once that was done, they were adhered together.
