Hi, Stampers!
Are you ready for a new Let’s Craft and Create Challenge that starts today? The theme is one that I bet you will enjoy – “Use hand punches/dies.” I bet you have something in the works right now that you can submit! So, in my crafting mind, July is the month for nautical cards, and I couldn’t wait to share this new bundle with you. It’s called Sunrise Sailing and it comes with a stamp set, embossing folder and coordinating dies! I absolutely had to have it! If you want to know how this card was created, keeping reading below, and, if you’re interested in purchasing any of the products I used, there are links at the bottom of the post to make it easy.
Ready to get your creative juices flowing? Head over to the gallery for a dose of inspiration, and if you’re feeling crafty, come play along with us!

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, this card started with making the card base with white cardstock, cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scoring in at 4-1/4 to crease an A2 card.
- After that, I embossed the Sunrise Sailing embossing folder with white cardstock, cut to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 and layered it onto the Everyday Skies DSP, that was cut to 5-3/8 x 4-1/8.
- Before adhering them together, I dragged my Balmy Blue ink pad across the embossed water. I missed the top edge but was afraid to go back in case it ruined the part that was already done! Oh, well, I like it the way it ended up.
And now, the fun part!
- After making the card base, I cropped out the sailboat and colored the boat with Stampin’ Blends. Then, I cropped out the sails with Petal Pink cardstock, and used a blending brush to add Poppy Parade ink along the edges.
- Once that was done, I cropped out the same Everyday Skies DSP used on the card base and cropped it with the large Spotlight on Nature die. I stamped the sentiment and the flying bird from Sunrise Sailing stamp set.
- Then, I cropped out a circle with Petal Pink cardstock and dry embossed it with the Swirl embossing folder.
- After that, I glued them together and popped them up with dimensionals over the sailboat in the middle of the embossing folder.
- Once that was added to the card base, I glued the sailboat in place.
I hope to share my card with these challenges:

I love everything about this card, Debbie! I grew up near the ocean in California and on a sailboat for my 18th birthday eons ago. I like the textures you used to add interest.

Love this card and the colours you picked
Debbie, Thanks for playing along this week at Just Us Girls with this great sailing card! How did you make the edging on the blue circle? I like the effect. I also love the color of the sails so much and the blue is a great shade to go with them. Your sea and sky are soft and subtle to round out this calming scene. (I love the sentiment too!)
Such a peaceful Ocean scene, many thanks for sharing at Allsorts challenge.
