Stampin’ Up! Extraordinary Flora Card for the Creative Crafters Challenge

Create this card using Extraordinary Flora by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Creative Crafters Challenge starts today, and we want to see your creations! The theme is always Anything Goes, which is definitely my favorite theme! My card today should be inspirational for anyone who is drowning in things that have to be done but you need a card quick or just need a small creative break. I made the mistake of waiting to order the Extraordinary Flora washi tape and by the time I was ready to order it, it was sold out. And then it sold out two more times before I finally got it last week! I immediately got started with it and cut out the flowers with the coordinating die. So, now I have a good stash that I can get out any time I need it. I am so busy these days but the washi tape made this card come together in a flash. You will definitely enjoy working it and I have a tip or two in the Secrets section below.

Check out the Creative Crafters gallery and jump in—it’s more fun with you there!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with Very Vanilla cardstock, cut to 11 x 4-1/4 and scored at 5-1/2
  • I cut teh Textured Metallic gold foil paper to 3-3/4 x 5-1/8 (please note that this measurement should have been 3-3/4 x 5 but didn’t see the error till my adhesive was set).
  • Then, I used my new Branched Out die with the Season of Elegance paper and added it to the card base.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once that was done, I cut the Extraordinary Flora washi tape to fit white cardstock. I suggest using paper that is larger than the width of the washi tape. Then, I used a bone folder to burnish the two together. After I cut the washi tape with the coordinating die, I burnished a few of the flowers to make sure they were on good and tight.
  • I stamped the sentiment from Layering Leaves in Pretty Peacock ink and cropped it out with one of the small Branched Out dies. Then, it was popped up with dimensionals onto the card base.
  • Once that was done, all I had to do was arrange the flowers to the corners of the sentiment panel, using adhesive and dimensionals.
  • Finally, I added the Opal Rounds to the center of the flowers.

Then, on the inside…

  • I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Then, the panel with the foil and Very Vanilla cardstock was cut and adhered together.
  • Finally, I added more Extraordinary Flora washi tape to the corners to finish the card.

I hope to share my card with these challenges:

Brotherly love in its purest form! Noah and Musa are soaking in the sweetness of being together before heading off in different directions for the day. Watching them connect like this makes me so grateful—they already love each other deeply, and I can only hope that bond stays strong as life throws its bumps and twists their way.

  1. I’ve had the same experience with the washi tape but now I’m holding off until October to put it in my order to make quota 🙂 I love every aspect of your creation, especially the black and gold. Your boys are growing by leaps and bounds. I, too, hope they will maintain that bond forever. Hugs, my friend.

  2. What a beautiful floral card Debbie, the blooms really pop against dark back panel, many thanks for sharing with us at Allsorts challenge.
