TWO Autumn Toile Cards for the Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

Hi, Stampers! Fun folds make every handmade card extra special, and today’s blog hop is FULL of great ideas! Whether you’re looking for a unique way to surprise someone or just want to try something new, you’re in for a treat. I’ve teamed up with very creative SU demonstrators to bring you a lineup of creative, must-try designs. Today I have two cards for you, each one uses the beautiful Autumn Toile designer paper, which I love. I made the first card and right after I finished it, I wanted to change it. Has that ever happened to you? It was all put together but I couldn’t just leave my idea in my brain. I just had to make it again. So, that’s card #2. Do you like one more than the other? Let me know in a comment!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Both cards started with the same card base.
  • Card Base: Cardstock cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, score at 4-1/14, then cut 1-1/4 off the side of the front. Save this piece because it will be the right flap of this card.
  • Front Panel on Card #1: Cardstock cut to 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 and DSP cut to 2-5/8 x 5-1/8.
  • Front Panel on Card #2: Card front was dry embossed in the new Gathering Leaves embossing folder. Then, a panel was made with cardstock cut to 4-7/8 x 3-3/8 and DSP cut to 4-3/4 x 3-1/4.

Card #1

  • Before adhering the Autumn Toile DSP to the cardstock panel, I colored the scene with Stampin’ Blends markers (colored listed at the end of the post).
  • I dry embossed a piece of cardstock with the retired Leaf Fall embossing folder and glued it to the flap. Then, I cut out the Autumn with the Words of the Season die and glued it on top. Once that was done, I scored the flap at 3-1/2, and glued it to the inside of the card.
  • Then, I cut Very Vanilla cardstock to 5-1/4 x 4 and glued it over the flap on the inside of the card.
  • Just for fun, I added more DSP to the inside of the front flap (2-3/4 x 5-1/4) and another piece to the right inside panel, cut to 1-1/4 x 5-1/8.

Card #2

  • I explained how I made the card base above, and after that, I cut out the Autumn Toile DSP with the Textured Notes die. Then, I colored areas of the paper with Stampin’ Blends. Once that was done, I cut Pecan Pie cardstock to layer it onto and glued it to the front of the card.
  • Then, I cut Pecan Pie cardstock to 3-1/4 x 1 and Very Vanilla cardstock to 3 x 3/4. They were glued together and added to the flap of the card.
  • I cut the Autumn word die with both Pecan Pie and Early Espresso cardstock and glued them together, with the Early Espresso offset enough to give the Pecan Pie a shadow.
