Stampin’ Up! Christmas Greenery Card for the Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

Hi, Stampers! Fun folds make every handmade card extra special, and today’s blog hop is FULL of great ideas! Whether you’re looking for a unique way to surprise someone or just want to try something new, you’re in for a treat. I’ve teamed up with very creative SU demonstrators to bring you a lineup of creative, must-try designs. Easel cards were the very first fun fold I ever tried, and honestly… I’ve been hooked ever since. They’re easy, a little different, and always look like you put in way more effort than you actually did. This time, I paired the new Christmas Greenery bundle with the Everyday Arches dies to create a shaped easel card — and oh my goodness, it turned out gorgeous! What do I love most? It proves you can stretch your seasonal stamp sets way beyond the holidays.

Create this card using Christmas Greenery by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I cut Very Vanilla cardstock to 11 x 4-1/4 and scored it at 5-1/2. Then, I cut it with the largest Everyday Arches die with the top end just slightly over the paper’s edge to keep the front and back attached. The front flap is scored in half (~2-9/16) to hold the easel panel.
  • Then, I cut three more arches of the same size: two arches with coordinating Brushed with Beauty designer paper and another with Very Vanilla cardstock. I glued one of the DSP to the Very Vanilla cardstock to create the front of the easel card.
  • The third arch has the top snipped off to fit on the inside of the card.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • I stamped the beautiful bouquet of flowers with Mossy Meadow ink. After setting it aside for a while to dry well, I started coloring it with Stampin’ Blends markers (listed in the Products List below). Once that was done, I cut it out with the coordinating die.
  • I cut out the Everyday Arches die with Mossy Meadow cardstock and another Brushed with Beauty design paper in a smaller arch. These two arches were glued together.
  • Another layer of the bouquet was cut and glued to the back of the first one to give it a little lift off of the arched panel – subtle but effective, I’d say.

Then, on the inside…

  • Once the front was done, I needed to make a popped up panel to hold the easel up. I cut a piece of the same Brushed with Beauty DSP that I used on the front to 3-1/8 x 1-3/4 and layered it onto Mossy Meadow cardstock, cut to 3-1/4 x 1-7/8. They were glued together and popped up to the inside of the card, where the front will stand up.
  • After that, I stamped the “birthday wishes” from the Simply Said stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink and cropped it out with the Nested Essentials die. The sentiment was popped up with dimensionals.
  • This is where I thought the front could use a sentiment as well. So, I cut out the “Happy” from the Words for the Season dies in Calypso Coral cardstock. I couldn’t find a good spot for it on the inside of the card, so I decided to add it to the front.
  • Finally, I added the Pearls of Beauty to the front and center of the flowers for some sparkle.

Guess who turned 8 months old? MUSA! I know you think I only post his photos when he’s got a big smile, but that’s just his personality! He is either happy or ready to sleep!! That smile just melts my heart. I think being a grandmother is the best! I would love to hear about your sweet ones in a comment below.

  7. Debbie, I love this beautiful, fun-fold card. It is fun to see Musa’s smiling face and what Noah is doing. Caden, my 23-year-old grandson, is a college graduate, lives in New York City, and is a middle school basketball coach, which he loves. I almost forgot…. he’s 6’4″ (I’m 5’0″), and his players love him. Enjoy your day, Debbie!

  8. Hi Debbie,
I have no grandchildren but enjoy sharing yours every week. The picture this week is wonderful. Musa is adorable! I really like your card ideas and make more of your cards than anyone else’s. But even if I don’t want to make the card, I always look at the picture.
