Stampin’ Up! Light & Wonder for the Inspiration Station Challenge

Create this card using Light & Wonder by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

Are you ready for a new Inspiration Station Challenge? We’ve got a brand new photo to get your wheels turning, and it’s perfect for the holiday season. My card had no plan; I just had fun. Going through my retired stamp sets, I found the lovely trees in the Frosted Forest bundle that I wanted to stencil one more time. Then, I paired it with the wonderful sentiment in Light & Wonder stamp set. Want more details? I can tell you all of my secrets below.

What part of the inspiration photo speaks to your creativity? I’d love to see how it moves you. Your interpretation of the inspirational photo is your own, so let your creativity flow! Don’t forget to check out the design team gallery, then jump in—it’s more fun with you there!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • I started this A2 card with cardstock, cut to 11 x 4-1/4 and scored at 5-1/2.
  • After that, I made a panel with the Elegant Pine Snowflakes designer paper (cut to 5-1/8 x 3-7/8) and layered it onto white cardstock, cut to 5-1/4 x 4.

And now, the fun part!

  • I began stenciling the Frosted Forest trees with Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon ink. Once that was done, I cropped them out with their coordinating dies.
  • After that, I wanted to add some “life” to the winter scene, so I used the die with the two deer from Autumn Leaves to cut white cardstock. Then, I colored both deer, the foliage, and the boulder with Stampin’ Blends markers (listed below). Then, I stamped the deer from the stamp set and colored it as well.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the “Wonder” sentiment from Light & Wonder in Lost Lagoon ink. Then, I cropped it out with the Branching Out die. After that, I stamped the “Embrace the” and cropped it out with the new 3 Banner Punch.
  • Finally, I added the pretty (but retired) Star Trinkets for some sparkle.

Then, on the inside…

  • For the inside, I cut white cardstock with the largest Branching Out die.
  • Then, I stamped both of the stamps from Light & Wonder in Pretty Peacock ink.
  • Finally, I cut out two of the branches from the Branching Out die collection with Lost Lagoon cardstock, then colored them with Stampin’ Blends markers and glued them to the card base.
