Stampin’ Up! Traditions of Christmas Card for the Creative Crafters Challenge

Create this card using Traditions of Christmas by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Creative Crafters Challenge starts today, and it’s the last one of the year. It also marks the end of my first year with the challenge. Wow, the year went so incredibly fast! Does anyone else agree with me? If you need an idea for a quick and easy card, I have one for you today. You can adapt the papers and focal point to your own supplies. I used the beautiful Traditions of Christmas paper that I finally got my hands on. Then, I made a fast focal point with the Paper Pumpkin add-on dies. The Abundant Joy dies are perfect to keep in your stash!

Ready to get your creative juices flowing? Head over to the gallery for a dose of inspiration, and if you’re feeling crafty, come play along with us!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • This A2 top-folding card started with an 11 x 4-1/4 piece of cardstock, then was covered with designer paper and cut to 5-1/4 x 4.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once that was done, I chose a patterned paper from the Traditions of Christmas paper pack and cut it out with the Everyday Arches die. Then, I cut white cardstock with the next larger size die and layered them together.
  • After that, I cut out “JOY” from the Paper Pumpkin Abundant Joy dies that are this quarter’s Add-on dies, using the Textured Metallic specialty paper. I cut out a second one with Secret Sea cardstock and layered them together.
  • There’s a tag in the add-on dies that I decided to use, cutting Real Red cardstock. It ended up not the look I wanted, so I cut a small arch with white cardstock and layered it on top of the tag.
  • I cut out two of the leafy branches from the add-on dies with white cardstock and colored them with Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.
  • Then, I fussy cut two of the white flowers from the patterned paper and colored one of them with the Strawberry Slush Stampin’ Blends.
  • I made a small bow from white organza ribbon for the top of the tag.
  • Finally, I added a few gold sequins for a little more sparkle.

Then, on the inside…

  • I ran out of time to get a photo of the inside, but it was more Traditions of Christmas paper with a white panel cut with the same arch die. Cut out a pretty flower and add your favorite sentiment, and it’s done!
