Stampin’ Up! Feathered Fun Wedding Card for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Hi, Stampers!

This month, we’re speaking the Language of Love! If you’re craving inspiration and a good excuse to break out your favorite craft supplies, you’re in the right place. This hop is all about sharing the love through handmade cards and paper crafts, and the Pals can’t wait to inspire you with beautiful creations made using Stampin’ Up! products. My card started with the sweet lovebirds in the Feathered Fun bundle. They are obviously ready to “tie the knot,” so I also used the sentiments in the new Simply Beautiful stamp set to make a wedding card. My adult children are always needing wedding cards, and the season is just around the corner. If you’re looking for a unique wedding card, I have the details on this card below.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this A2 easel card started with cardstock, cut to 11 x 4-1/4, and scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2.
  • Cardstock, cut to 5-1/4 x 4 (2), one was dry embossed, and the second was glued to the back to give the panel more strength.
  • Inside: Cardstock, cut to 5-1/4 x 4, and DSP (optional), cut to 5-1/8 x 3-7/8.

And now, the fun part!

  • I started the fun part of this card by stamping the birds stamp with Secret Sea ink. Once dry, I colored the birds with Stampin’ Blends markers (listed below). I knew absolutely nothing about what colors to use, but I did try to make the male a little more colorful. Once I was okay with that, I fussy cut them out.
  • After that, I cut out the pine branches from the Branching Out dies and colored them with Stampin’ Blends.
  • Then, I wanted to find a way to give them a spotlight, which automatically made me think of the Spotlight on Nature die, which I cut out with white cardstock.
  • Once that was done, I cut out the Nature Walk designer paper with the Branching Out die. I popped it up with dimensionals onto the front panel, added the white circle, added adhesive to hold the branches, and added the birds.
  • I stamped the Simply Beautiful sentiment in Garden Green ink and cut the cardstock to 5-1/4 x 4 before popping it up with dimensionals.
  • Finally, I added the flat pearls to the top corners of the frame.

Then, on the inside…

  • I made the panel (see measurements above) and then cut two of the Branching Out dies with white cardstock. I glued the top one onto the card base and popped the bottom one with dimensionals.
  • I used more of the designer paper to stamp the sentiment from the Simply Beautiful stamp set in Garden Green ink. Then, I cropped it out with the next smaller size of the Branching Out dies.
  • I couldn’t resist adding the puffy stickers that I had just gotten in an order but colored the little heart with the Timid Tiger Stampin’ Blends. To finish the card, I added the pretty flat pearls for more sparkle.

Noah is back from his fun vacation, and the first thing he wanted to do was more science experiments! This one was lots of fun! We combined vinegar and cooking oil with a couple drops of blue food coloring and added the baking soda from the funnel. Then, we sat back and watched the mixture bubble for quite a while. He really enjoys these little experiments!
