Hello, Stampers! We so enjoyed the creations made for our last challenge at Retro Rubber. Did you see them yet? You will love them, I am absolutely sure. Today marks the next challenge and it is Back to School. Not what I want to be thinking about, because I will then have an empty nest, but I made a card that I will be able to send to them. I used my favorite stamp from Big News and then used Crazy about You with the Hello You thinlits.
The card started by choosing my “school supplies” – Typeset Specialty DSP with the retired Spiral Border punch. Colors are Island Indigo and Pear Pizzazz for no reason other than I love them together, don’t you?!
This card really came together very quickly, with the only time waster being figuring how to do the “you”. I tried it in a few different ways but ended up keeping the original one. Go figure!
I hope you’ll stop by and check out the rest of the Design Team inspiration over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog. Please get your much loved older stamps out and play along! We would love for you to join us before the challenge closes on Friday, August 28th.
So, I hope you liked my card today! If you did, please take a minute and leave me a comment! I love hearing from you! I love this card that you will be sharing with your college bound kiddos, especially Sarah! I love the colors that you chose and extra special details such as stars and ribbon. The week days will fly by and you will be hugging them during the weekend! Love ya… off to pin so that other stampers that have kids can CASE… 🙂
What a great card! Love the color choices and the die cuts, punches, oh and the embossed star layer.
First you choose the perfect colors together – I am going to have to use this combo. Second – the papers! Love! Third – the design of the card – absolutely LOVE it! Empty nests can be hard – I found out years after I moved out, that my mom wanted to adopt two more kids! My dad said no – that is how bad she had the empty nest syndrome! I would have loved it – I would have demanded sisters!!
Love love love this card! The colors, the sweet little ribbon, the layers, the candy dots, the embossing peeking out from under the layout. Oh so sweet!
What a great combination of colors Debbie, love the sentiment and the fabulous design, all the details fit perfectly and look awesome.
We too are empty nesters in the sense that our daughters are both married and on their own with their families but, we don’t feel our nest empty, both our girls live super close, our youngest just next door and our grandkids are here almost every day.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful card.
Maria.
Debbie, I love this card, it is so fun – the sentiment made me smile. I think my Ma felt the same empty nest thing when I left 25years ago for Uni, but she is fast realising that she can’t get rid of me. 3,500 miles away and I still have door keys and let myself in when I go back to London LOL. Cx
Love the colors, the embossing and the notecard. Perfect!
