Plentiful Plants Z Fold Window Card for the Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

We hope you enjoy the inspiration we have for you! You will find the lineup to the other great fun fold stampers at the bottom of my post. I love to make easy fun fold cards! They just add that little bit of detail that makes it stand out from a regular card, don’t you agree? So, for my card today, I made a Z Fold Window card, which was really easy to make (my favorite). Since I hadn’t used Plentiful Plants in such a long time (you can see my first card HERE), I decided to ink it up for you today.

My Secrets!

  • Card Measurements
    • Card Base: Smoky Slate, cut at 9″ x 6″ and scored at 4-1/2″
    • Z Fold Cardstock: Basic Gray, cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ and scored at 4-1/4″ and 6-3/8″ on the 8-1/2″ side
    • Card Front Designer Paper: 4-3/8″ x 5-7/8″
    • White Cardstock for personal message inside: 4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″
  • Firstly, I created the card front by adhering the designer paper (Night & Day DSP – long retired but unearthed during my recent move) with Tombow (green) glue to cover the inside of the paper so that the paper would stay down after cutting out the circular window.
  • After that, I cut out the window with the large circle die and saved the cutout for the inside of the card.
  • Then, I adhered the Z fold cardstock to the inside of the card so the Z fold would open on the right-hand side.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Firstly, using the Plentiful Plants stamp set, I stamped all of the pots and plants, then die cut them out along with the hanging basket and succulent plant.
  • After that, I colored the succulent with Stampin’ Blends markers (listed below).
  • Then, I glued and/or popped up all of the elements onto the card front.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Moments and cut it out with the same circle die. Then, I closed up the card and adhered it directly onto the Z Fold cardstock.
  • Because I didn’t want to waste the circle that was cut out of the card front, I stamped Happy Birthday on it and glued it under the other circle so it wouldn’t show till the card was opened completely.
  • Finally, I thought the card front needed a little more of something, so I tied a bow onto the hanging basket and glued a metallic Tim Holtz Butterfly for the all-too-necessary bling.

I’m sharing my card with these challenges:

Thanks for Scrolling to the End!

Our little man spent the weekend with us again. He can’t seem to shake the virus he’s had. So, I spoilt him with some great books, which he is “reading” in his favorite elephant chair.
