Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!
This month, the theme is Last Minute Gifts/Cards to inspire you with your holiday list. We really hope that you will be enjoy all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I’m sure you have most of your shopping list taken care of by now, but do you have a few that you really don’t know what to get? My idea for you today is how to make the presentation of the gift part of the gift itself! So, I have a gift bag, a gift box and gift “sleeve” to make your gifts almost too pretty to unwrap! In addition, for even more ideas, I shared this gift card holder previously as well as a calendar card for a gift that can be used the entire year!
My Secrets!
#1 – Gift Bag
- The Stars Treat Bags made it so easy to put this together, and super quick as well. All I had to do was cut and adhere the Gold Distressed paper to the inside of the bag so it would show through in the stars.
- Then, I stamped the sentiment from Framed & Festive and cut it out with the Framed Florets dies (but any oval would do).
- After that, I cut one of the Tailor Made Tags using Cherry Cobbler cardstock, then layered it onto the bag with dimensionals and tied a bakers twine bow for the top.
- Finally, to add just a touch, I cut out one of the leaf branches from the Framed Florets dies in Evening Evergreen cardstock and added red rhinestones for bling.
#2 – Gift Box
- Firstly, this is the first gift box I have ever made (well, maybe it’s my second…) and I wanted to share with you how they are made, in case you have never tried one before. They really aren’t difficult and much prettier with color and patterned paper. So, I will share a graphic I made to make it a bit easier for you below.
- Focal Point: After I made the box from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and Boughs of Holly paper, I stamped the sentiment and cropped it out with the Stylish Shapes circle die. After that, I cut Shaded Spruce cardstock with a Stylish Shapes square die and layered it onto Real Red cardstock.
- Then, I found the cutest flower dies in the Pretty Pillowbox dies, so I cut out several and glued them together. After that, they were layered onto the panel with mini dimensionals.
- Finally, I cut two pieces of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon and folded them in half lengthwise. Then, I tied them into a bow and adhered it to the box with glue dots. Also, Opal Rounds were placed onto the flower centers.
Box Construction
- Top: Patterned paper: Cut 7-1/2″ square and scored at 1-1/2″ on all four sides. Then, I cut on the score lines at each corner, trimmed a tiny bit off of each end to give the box a more finished look. Finally, I adhered each flap with a good adhesive.
- Bottom: Cardstock (best to give the box some weight): I cut 12″ Cherry Cobbler cardstock down to 9-3/8″ square. Then, I scored all four sides at 1-1/2.” Then, I cut on the score lines at each corner, trimmed a tiny bit off of each end to give the box a more finished look. Finally, I adhered each flap with a good adhesive.
#3 – Gift Sleeve
- Firstly, I cut Old Olive cardstock to 10-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and scored at 2-1/2,” 3-1/4,” 7-1/2,” and 8-1/4.” Then, I adhered the ends together, wrapping it around the chocolate box to ensure it would fit.
- After that, I made a panel with the Boughs of Holly paper and Real Red cardstock. Then, I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a circle die and layered it onto Evening Evergreen cardstock that was cut with the Decorative Circle punch.
- Then, I cut a long piece of the Frayed Ribbon and laid it across so I could pop a vellum square over it, using dimensionals that are placed on top and below the ribbon.
- Finally, I cut more flowers from the Pillow Box dies, layered them together and placed Classic Matte Dots on the centers.
Gift Ideas
So, I thought you might want to see what I am gifting in those pretty packages. I have gourmet chocolates and sweet smelling candles for the people on my list. If you need any other ideas, here’s a link for some great stocking stuffers from Target.
