My Card Today

Today’s project is a fun fold card that is perfect for this time of year – a Double Pocket Card. Firstly, we are coming into graduation season, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, as well as birthdays, so having a little pocket for a gift card, check or cash is always convenient. So, I found a great tutorial to follow and used the Waves of Inspiration and Artistically Inked sentiments with the new upcoming Fresh As A Daisy designer paper, and just love how this card turned out.

My Secrets!

  • Firstly, I used this Splitcoaststampers’ Double Pocket Card tutorial as my guide in making this card.
  • Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
  • So, the Double Pocket cardstock is 5″ x 11-1/4″ and scored at 3-3/4″ and 7-1/2″.
  • After that, I cut from the 1-7/8″ line along the long side to the second score line.
  • Then, I cut at the 7/8″ line from the same side to the first score line.
  • Once that was done, all I had to do was cut a few panels from the Fresh As A Daisy paper:
    • DSP #1: 2″ x 3-1/2″ (2 for top and bottom)
    • DSP #2 1″ x 3-1/2″ (1 for the middle)
  • Then, I decided to add another panel of cardstock for a little more color with the dimensions of 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″

Now, the FUN part!

  • After that was done, I stamped the Waves of Inspiration sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and cut it out with the Tailor Made Tag.
  • Then, I stamped the sentiment from Artistically Inked and punched it out with the Double Oval Punch.
  • After that, I cut out the pretty daisy die with white cardstock and added the pretty In Color Dots for the center.
  • Finally, I added the ribbon around the bottom of the card before adhering the panel to the card base as put a short piece through the hole on the tag.

We celebrated the end of Ramadan last weekend with these absolutely delicious Cardamom Buns! Sarah tried a different recipe this time and liked this one just a bit more. So, if you’re a baker and want to try them, I am posting the recipe from True North Kitchen below.
