It’s In The Stars Card for the MMM Challenge

Hi, Stampers!

A new Make My Monday challenge is starting today, and the theme is “Space Travel.” I had to get a little creative with this one, but I love when a challenge allows me to play with some retired stash. I started this card using the It’s In The Stars stamp set to create the background, then added the retired To The Moon and Silhouettes Scenes stamp sets to complete the card front.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

• Firstly, this A2 card started with thick white cardstock, cut to 11″ x 4-1/4″ and scored at 5-1/2″.
• This card even had fun in the background! So, after making the card base, I inked the It’s In The Stars stamp set with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then, I began blending the panel with Blueberry Bushel, Gorgeous Grape, and Fresh Freesia inks, and cut it down to 3-3/4″ x 5-1/8″.
• After that, I adhered it to black cardstock, cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″.

And now, the fun part!

• Then, to continue this fun card, I stamped the large moon stamp with Balmy Blue ink and cropped it out with the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch.
• After that, I am the Silhouettes Scenes image with Versamark ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut it out.
• Next, I stamped the sentiment with black ink and trimmed it down to 3-1/8″ x 1/2,” and used the edge of the Deckled Rectangle die to give a fun edge on the sides.
• Finally, I decided a little rhinestone bling could add a bit of twinkle to the background, and added one to the moon to represent the theme’s space travel.

Then, on the inside…

• Firstly, I cut the black cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and cut a panel of white cardstock with the Deckled Rectangle die.
• After that, I stamped the sentiment in black ink.
• Finally, I stamped three star stamps with Encore Silver ink to give the inside a little twinkle as well.
