Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!
Hi, Stampers! We have a great blog hop of fun fold crafters today so I know you will enjoy the inspiration this month. There’s a lineup below to make it easy for you to hop along and see all of the great inspiration from other creative SU demonstrators. Did you see this Graduation Easel Card I made in May? It was so fun and easy to make and I think it could be made for any occasion. So, I decided to try it again for a birthday card instead. I used four different stamp sets but the Biggest Wish is front and center on the panel. Also, I used Layering Leaves, Countryside Corners, and Season of Chic for the pretty flowers.
My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, I followed this tutorial by Mixed Up Craft with the dimensions for a 5-1/2″ square card. So, the card base started with white cardstock, cut at 5-1/2″ x 11″ and scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2.”
- After that, I began measuring the card base at 2-3/4″ on all sides of the card and placing a light pencil mark at each of these spots. Then, I scored lines diagonally through the center of the card (Template below).
- Once that is done, I cut off the two triangular ends on the side with the 2-3/4″ score line, which will become the easel for this card.
- Burnish all of the fold lines, then the fun begins!
Now, the FUN Part!
- Focal Panel: 4-1/4″ square of Navy cardstock
- 4″ square of Countryside Designer Paper
- After that, I stamped the Happy Birthday from Biggest Wish in Night of Navy and Boho Blue ink and cropped it out with the Countryside Corners Die and layered another one (cut the same size) in Navy cardstock. Then, I cut it in half and glued each half to the sides for a little more contrast . Once that was done, I popped it up with dimensionals onto the panel.
- Then, I stamped the two flowers and cut them out as well.
- Also, I stamped and punched out two leaves from the Layering Leaves stamp set and the coordinating punch.
- I adhered all of these together, then glued them to the triangular end of the card base.
- On the bottom panel, I cut Navy cardstock to 5-1/4″ x 2-5/8″ and layered the Countryside Corners DSP (5-1/8″ x 2-1/2″).
- Then, I stamped the sentiment from Layering Leaves and cut it out with Countryside Corners dies. After that, I inked up one of the borders from the Countryside Corners stamp set with my Navy marker and made it a frame for the sentiment. These were popped up with dimensionals to be the “stopper” for the easel.
- Finally, I added the Boho blue dots to the flowers and around the sentiments for a little bling.
- This card folds flat, measuring 5-1/2″ x 6″, and will need likely extra postage due to the thickness of the envelope.
Here’s how the card base looks…

So beautifully done! Thanks for linking up to our July challenge gallery at Die Cut Divas.
Fantastic fold card. I love how you used a lighter color for birthday and then stamped in a darker color the “happy” on top of it. I don’t think I’ve ever thought of doing that, but it works perfectly. So glad you joined us for our July challenge at Die Cut Divas.
A lovely fold and looks simple to do too. Thanks for joining us at Allsorts this week.
