Autumn Leaves Faux Step Card for the Pals Blog Hop

Autumn Leaves with Handcrafted Elements Dies Faux Step Card

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Hi, Stampers!

This month, the theme is Home for the Holidays. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal. So, for my Thanksgiving card, I created a Faux Step card that is so easy to create – and impress your family and friends! This card was made using the wonderful Autumn Leaves bundle along with the much-overlooked Handcrafted Elements dies. My “secret” for using intricate dies like these are to cut them out with the adhesive sheet, which is less messy than liquid glue.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Card Base: 8″ x 5-1/2″ then scored at 1-1/2, 3, and 5-1/2.
  • Image Panel: 3-1/2 x 8 then scored at 4.
  • After that, I made DSP Panels:
    • Front 1-3/8 x 5-3/8
    • Middle 2-3/8 x 5-3/8
    • Image (on the faux panel) 3-3/8 x 3-7/8

And now, the fun part!

  • Isn’t that easy? This time I made sure that this faux step card would fit into an A2 envelope!
  • Once that was done, I started on the Handcrafted Elements dies. Firstly, I cut the top die with the solid copper foil paper. Then, I cut the bottom die with the Pretty Peacock/Copper foil paper. SECRET: I cut the foil paper into two 3-1/2″ squares and put them onto an adhesive sheet so that it would be much easier to layer them together. Then, using the die, I traced the edge on white cardstock, cut it out, and layered the two die pieces on top. Once that was done, I popped it up with dimensionals onto the faux step panel.
  • After that, I inked up the “with a grateful heart” sentiment from Autumn Leaves in Pretty Peacock ink and cropped it out with a die in that coordinating die collection.
  • Then, I cropped out leaves in the Oxidized Copper foil for the middle panel.
  • Lastly, I added a few Blooming Pearls.
  • FYI this panel can be secured to the base in any position you’d like, so I placed it to the left to place the sentiment beside it.
  • Then, I glued it on the card base after figuring out where it should be to fit into an A2 envelope.

Then, on the back…

  • Firstly, I cut a white panel at 3-3/8 x 3-7/8 and stamped the sentiment from Autumn Leaves in Pretty Peacock ink.
  • Finally, I added more leaves and Blooming Pearls to complete the back panel for a personal message.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month (always the second Wednesday of each month), when our theme will be Winter Wonderland.

Until then, have fun in your craft space!

  2. Debbie, this paper is gorgeous. I don’t know why I didn’t order it. Thank you for entering it in the PIP Challenge. Unfortunately, it can’t be considered for the prize or honorary mention because our rules allow only 10 challenges.
