Magical Meadow Fun Fold Card for Creative Creases #70

It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! I have an easy, easy fun fold for you try – I made one before a while back so I thought it would make a cute birthday card, using the Magical Meadow and So Sincere stamp sets. I love a card that is pretty to display, AND, this card folds flat for mailing!

Once you’re finished here, check out the current Creative Creases challenge; just click the button below!

My Card Today

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I started this A2 card out by cutting cardstock (I used the long-retired Brushed Gold cardstock) to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 and scoring at 1-7/8, 3, 5-1/2, and 6-5/8.
  • After that, I made 4 panels for the front and back of the card:
    • Cardstock: 1-5/8 x 5-1/4 (4)
    • DSP: 1-1/4 x 5-1/16 (4)
  • Then, the middle panel:
    • Cardstock: 2-1/4 x 5-1/4
    • DSP (front)/Cardstock for personal message (back): 2-1/16 x 5-1/16

Now, the FUN part!

  • So, the fun part of this card was stamping the branches with another retired product called Delicata Golden Glitz Metallic ink. If you don’t have that one, you can heat emboss with gold embossing powder or I think Crumb Cake is also very close to this color.
  • Then, I punched the Brushed Gold cardstock with the Vintage Bottle, cut off the top of the bottle and dry embossed it in the Tasteful Textile embossing folder (oops – also retired).
  • After that, I stamped the two sentiments from the So Sincere stamp set and cropped them out with dies (Happy Birthday with the Sending Dies and Knowing You Brings Joy to My Heart with a Stitched Rectangle die).
  • Then, they were all glued in placed and the bottler was popped up with dimensionals.
  • Finally, I finished the front by adding gold Blooming Pearls.

Then, on the back

  • I really wasn’t planning to do much with the back but it just made sense after I made the panel for the personal message. So, I cut the personal message panel with Night of Navy cardstock and the personal message with Very Vanilla to match the front.
  • Then, on the personal message panel, I stamped the sentiment from So Sincere in Night of Navy ink and the branches with more gold ink.
  • Lastly, I cut the two side panels the same size as the front ones, using a different DSP because this one really seemed to go well with the stamping.

  8. So beautifully done with this wonderful fold! Your card folds always make them so extra special, wish I would do more of them, but somehow I never do 🙁
Great meme at the end LOL. I went grocery shopping in perfect daylight yesterday and it was pitch black when I got out of the store. Glad I grabbed my regular glasses instead of my prescription sunglasses!!
