It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! The Arrow Fold has been around for a while but I don’t recall making one before so I have two cards for you today. The first one I made was using the Garden Meadow bundle since I still had it out after making THIS card. Then, I made a second card using the Painted Lavender stamp set and dies to use up the remaining designer paper used for the first one.

My Card Today

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, I needed to create the fun fold card base by scoring the 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 cardstock at 4-1/4 on the 8-1/2 side.
- Then, I marked the sides and bottom at their halfway mark: 2-1/8 on the sides and 2-3/4 on the bottom. After that, I scored from the 4-1/4 to the bottom mark and again at the 2-1/8 mark to the bottom mark on both sides (See photo if that’s as clear as mud). Then, burnish and glue the flaps down (only where the folds meet).
- Once that was done, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 5-1/4 x 4 and adhered it to the inside of the card.
- Then, I picked out two different designer papers that I thought would look good together, cut them to 5-1/4 x 4, and marked the middle of the bottom edge at 2-5/8. Then, I cut from the top corners to the bottom middle mark and glued the pieces down to the front for the large piece and to the inside for the two smaller pieces.
- This can be done with just one designer paper if you only want to make one card.
Now, the FUN part!
- So, to finish off the card front, I stamped the wheelbarrow, flowers, and watering can, pulling the colors from the designer paper. Then, I cropped them out with their coordinating dies.
- After that, I stamped the sentiment from the Garden Meadow stamp set and punched it out with the Double Oval Punch (retiring!)
- Once this was done, I arranged them onto the Arrow Fold card front.
Then, on to Card #2…

- After creating the card base in the same way as Card #1, I used the leftover designer paper pieces to create the card base.
- Then, to change things up a bit, I used one of my favorite bundles for the focal pieces, Painted Lavender. I stamped the first one with Highland Heather and the other two in Balmy Blue. The last ones were dies that I cut from white cardstock and colored with Old Olive and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.
- Once that was done, I stamped the “happy birthday” from the Garden Meadow stamp set and cropped it out with the Stylish Shapes die.
- I layered all of the stamped pieces onto the arrow fold, then popped up the sentiment with dimensionals.
- Finally, I made a simple bow with white baker’s twine to finish off the card.
