July 2024 Paper Pumpkin Card for the Alphabet Challenge

Create this card using July 2024 Paper Pumpkin by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets To Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Alphabet Challenge starts today with the theme “I is for Inspired by Color” so use this mood board to create your card. Neutral colors can be added for contrast. So, for my card today I used the new July 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit, which is probably the prettiest kit ever. I love it so much! The elements in the kit were perfect for this challenge so I only added the Pretty in Pink and Smoky Slate cardstocks as well as an embossing folder. All in all, that’s pretty good, I think! I will also have two more fun fold cards to show you on Monday using the same kit, so come back to see them, too.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!

Create this card using July 2024 Paper Pumpkin by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets To Stamping

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I started this card with white cardstock that was cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2.
  • After that, I made a panel (5-1/4 x 4) of one of the card bases in the kit for the front of the card but I wouldn’t say I liked it.
  • After playing with the kit’s elements, I decided to make a Z Fold card so I scored the card base at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4. Then, I cut the panel to 5-1/4 x 1-7/8 for the front and the remaining piece was added to the inside.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once that was done, I cut the Pretty in Pink cardstock down to 5 x 3-3/4 and embossed it in the new Dashing Designs embossing folder. I just got this embossing folder and love the wonderful design.
  • Then, I cut Smoky Slate cardstock down to 2-9/16 x 3-15/16 to frame the beautiful floral image from the Paper Pumpkin kit. I could have cut the bottom of the stems off to fit into the frame but decided it added some fun to the focal image to leave it intact.
  • After that, I stamped the kit’s sentiment with Smoky Slate ink onto the pre-cut paper. Then, I threaded the green panel (also from the kit) through the floral image then popped the sentiment up with mini-dimensionals.
  • Finally, I added the sequins and baker’s twine bow to finish the card.

They have great cards with instructions but you can go “rogue” with your own ideas, which is my favorite thing to do.
