It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! My card used the Adventurous Sky bundle to make a slimline easel card, which is very easy, especially if you have made regular easel cards. This bundle is the perfect one to make masculine cards so I plan to send this one to a great guy who helps me.
Once you’re finished here, check out the current Creative Creases challenge; just click the button below!
My Card Today
My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, this card started with cardstock, cut to 7 x 8-1/2 and scored at 1-3/4 and 3-1/2. Then, I cut more cardstock to 3-1/2 x 8-1/2 to create the card front.
- After that, I made a panel from the patterned paper from Take To The Sky DSP.
- DSP for the card front: 3-1/4 x 8-1/4
- White cardstock for the inside of the card: 3-1/4 x 8-1/4
- Optional: I cut more DSP (used on the stopper) to 8-1/4 x 1 1/2 to add to the easel panel on the “back”, then I used the die from Everyday Details for a fun detail on the back of the card.
- Then, to make the “stopper” for the easel, I cut cardstock to 8-1/4 x 1-5/8 and DSP cut to 8-1/4 x 8-1/2.
Now, the FUN part!
- Once that was done, I adhered all of the panels onto the easel card and popped the “stopper” panel up with dimensionals.
- After that, I cut out pieces of gray granite cardstock to make the airplane from the Adventurous Sky dies. I decided to color the wings piece with Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends to make it pop, then colored the wheels with Black Stampin’ Blends. Once that was done, I popped the airplane onto the card front on the top, but glued the wheels with liquid glue.
- Then, I stamped the clouds with Boho Blue ink, cut out them out with dies and popped them up with dimensionals as well.
- I stamped the You’re the BEST sentiment from Hooray for Surprises, cut it out with the die from Wildflower Designs and cropped off one end before popping it up with dimensionals.
- Finally, to add a bit of masculine sparkle, I added an Industrial Trinket to the propeller.
Then, on the inside…
- So, I decided to add the “thanks” from the Thanks & Beyond dies, cutting it twice with Misty Moonlight carstock and once with white cardstock to give it some dimension.
- After that, I stamped the small airplane from the Adventurous Sky stamp set with Misty Moonlight ink and cut it out, and cut out two more with white cardstock to give it some strength and dimension.
- Then, I cut out two of the small clouds in Boho Blue ink and glued all three of these to the “stopper.”
