Hi, Stampers!
A new Alphabet Challenge starts today with the theme, “M is for Masculine.” So, you know the drill ~ I’m sure you have at least one guy, young or not-so-young, that you need to create a card for, right? We’d love to see what your guy would like! My card started with the Encircled In Nature bundle, so I paired it up with wonderful fall colors. I love making wreath cards and I think that using fall colors is great for masculine cards.
Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!
My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, this A2 card started with Garden Green cardstock, cut to 11 x 4-1/4 and scored at 5-1/2.
- After that, I cut Copper Clay cardstock to 4 x 5-1/4, then I cut the Country Lace DSP with the Encircled In Nature die that created a window to the back layer. I decided to add some ink blending to the corners to give it a more rustic feel, so I used a Blending Brush with Basic Beige ink on all four corners.
- So, I cut a piece of the Splendid Autumn DSP that has a beautiful blue for sky, then added a piece of the dark green for grass. They were all adhered together then adhered to the Copper Clay cardstock and adhered to the card base.
And now, the fun part!
- Once that was done, I stamped the trees in Mossy Meadow ink and cut them out with the coordinating dies and tucked them under the “grass” and window.
- After that, I stamped the first wreath stamp in Copper Clay ink and cropped it out with the coordinating dies.
- Then, I cut the wreath pieces with more of the Splendid Autumn designer paper (LOVE this paper!). The wreath, leaves and branches were glued down around the window.
- After that, I cut the row of trees from the Encircled in Nature dies in both Copper Clay cardstock and Country Woods paper to give it some extra weight on the card.
- Once that was done, I was able to judge where to stamp the sentiment from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set since I wanted it to be placed onto the card base.
- Finally, a wreath needs a bow, right? Well, to keep the card masculine, I cut the ribbon and knotted it, then adhered it to the card with glue dots.
Then, on the inside…
- Onto the inside, I cut more Copper Clay cardstock and Country Lace designer paper and adhered it to the cardstock.
- Then, I stamped the sentiment from the Encircled In Nature stamp set in Copper Clay ink and the trees in Mossy Meadow ink.
