It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! Ever since I made THIS card, I thought about making a shadow box card with the same patterned paper since the pathway is in the center of the paper and leading you through a beautiful grove of trees. Even though this card was an experiment, I like how it turned out. Then, I used the beautiful sentiment from Autumn Expressions to express how much I appreciate the recipient.

My Card Today

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, this shadow box card started by cutting two pieces of black cardstock, 5-1/2 x 6-1/4, and scored each piece at 1/2 and 1 on both sides. Once that was done, I cut one of the pieces with the frame die from the Delicate Forest die collection.
- Because the end result was pretty dark, so I cut a piece of white cardstock, cut to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 with the same frame die and, using a blending brush, added Pecan Pie ink across the entire paper. Then, I colored the leaves with Calypso Coral ink to bring some color, but, guess what, I still didn’t like the result. So, not to be defeated, I tried one more time with Pecan Pie and cut it out with the same frame die, and colored the leaves with the Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends marker. Once that was done, I played with the three panels, and decided to turn the black card base around to add a different look. Then, I trimmed the middle panel to stagger the leaves just a bit. After that, I glued all the panels together.
- Before gluing the two pieces of the card base together, I cut the patterned paper down to 5-1/2 x 4-1/8 and glued it to the inside of the back piece of the card base.
- Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Unbounded Love in black ink and cut it out with the Greetings of the Season die. Once that was done, I used the same blending brush that I had used on the middle panel and just gently brushed it around the white cardstock with an emphasis on the edges. I cut and doubled a piece of Baker’s Twine and looped it through the hole on the sentiment.

Then, on the back…
- So, to finish off the card, I cut Cajun Craze cardstock to 4 x 5-1/4 and a white piece of cardstock to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8.
- Then, I decided to use the great frame in Autumn Expressions with black and white cardstock. After that, I stamped the sentiment onto the white cardstock. The black piece was glued to the card base and the white cardstock was popped up with dimensionals.
- Finally, I stamped two of the Autumn Expressions leaves in Cajun Craze ink and colored them with Calypso Coral and Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends and cut them out with the coordinating die.

Noah asked me to take this photo to send it to his parents. The contrast of faces between his “puppet” and him just makes me laugh. What a joy it is to be a grandmother!
