Stampin’ Up! Delightful Wishes Card for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Hi, Stampers!

This month, the theme is “Sale-A-Bration.” We hope you will be inspired by all the creations the Pals share with you! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal. I can’t believe that it’s Sale-A-Bration time again! The designer papers are beautiful so I wanted to show you the lovely Bloom Impressions paper that will brighten up any card you make! I paired it with the Delightful Wishes bundle and the Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder and dies to make a birthday card that will delight the recipient.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • I wanted to make a Corner Angle Pop-up card, so I cut the card base to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 and scored it at 4-1/4. Then, I marked the left edge at 2-3/4 and 3-1/2 across the top edge on both sides of the card base. After that, I scored the card, using my bone folder on my Stampin’ Pierce Mat. Once that is done, I folded the angle pieces to the inside of the card to create the pop-up feature.
  • The white cardstock (cut to 5-1/4 x 4) and the DSP (cut to 5-1/8 x 3-7/8) and cut them both by marking them at the 2-3/4 on the left side and 3-1/2 on the top edge. Then, the panels were adhered together and added to the card base.

And now, the fun part!

  • The Delightful Wishes dies were used to make the “wishing” then I stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo ink and cropped it out with another frame in the die collection.
  • After that, I cut out the butterfly from the new Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder in white cardstock and the butterfly body in Melon Mambo cardstock, adhered them together and added them to the pop-up area of the card front.
  • Finally, I added some sequins to the butterfly for a bit of sparkle.

Then, on the back…

  • So, for the back of the card, I cut white cardstock after marking it to the same dimensions as the front and cut off the corner on the opposite side.
  • Then, I stamped the sweet sentiment from the Flying By stamp set and cut out one of the butterflies in Melon Mambo cardstock. After that, I glued it to the card at the beginning of the sentiment.
  • I added a 1/2″ piece of designer paper to add a bit ofcolor as well as more sequins to the small butterfly.
  • I decided to make a tent for the inside of the card by cutting a piece of cardstock to 5-1/2 x 3 but I recommend making it at 5-1/2 x 2-1/2 because my dimensions interfered with the pop-up feature, which I resolved by trimming the corner of the fold (shhh!) but I don’t think anyone would notice.

There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be the Language of Love.

Until then, have fun in your craft space!

  10. How did you attach the extra piece, 5 1/2 x 2 1/2, to inside of card?
Should I look at tent card instructions and cut at angle like you didl?
