Hi, Stampers!
Who’s ready for a new Let’s Craft and Create Challenge? Purple and green—what a wonderful combo! This month’s challenge had me reaching for the gorgeous Bloom Impressions designer paper—because who doesn’t love a good floral moment? I wanted to create a birthday card with a built-in gift card holder ( I love a two-in-one surprise!). The Something Fancy sentiment paired perfectly with the new Framed Scenes die, and let’s just take a moment to celebrate ovals making a comeback! 🎉
To make it even more fun, I mixed in some favorites:
- Cheerful Daisies bundle for more floral goodness
- Brand-new Textured Notes dies for added texture
- Citrus Blooms dies to bring in fresh, leafy elements
Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, this gift card holder started with cardstock cut to 11 x 4-1/4 and scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2.
- Front Focal Point Panel: Cardstock #1: 4-1/4 x 3, Cardstock #2: 4 x 2-3/4, DSP: 3-3/4 x 2-1/2
- Left Front Panel: Cardstock #2: 4 x 2-1/2, DSP: 3-3/4 x 2-1/4 (Use these dimensions for the pocket inside)
- Inside Right Panel: Cardstock #2: 5-1/4 x 4 and white cardstock: 5 x 3-3/4
- All panels were adhered together and attached to the card base. I cut the semi-circle with a 1″ circle punch before attaching the sides down to create the pocket.
And now, the fun part!
- So, starting with the focal image, I stamped the sentiment from Something Fancy stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink. Then, I cut it out with the Framed Scenes dies, which I pre-ordered from Online Exclusives and available now. I love oval dies and these two will be used a lot!
- Then, I brought out the Citrus Blooms die to add the Garden Green leaves around the focal image.
- After that, I stamped the flowers in Blackberry Bliss ink and cropped out with the coordinating die.
- Finally, I added a few Tinsel Gems to the center of the flowers.

Then, on the inside…
- So, before I added tear ‘n’ tape to close the sides of the gift card holder, I punched a little semicircle to make it easy to pull the gift card out, using my retired 1″ circle punch.
- Then, I added more flowers and branches on the gift card holder, adding pink sequins to the flower centers.
- After that, I stamped the two sentiments from Something Fancy in Blackberry Bliss ink and cropped it out with another Textured Notes dies (LOVE them!). Then, I layered it onto top of Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
I hope to share my card with these challenges:

Noah was so happy when he finished this Lego helicopter! And what does he do when he finished it? Why, of course, he tore it apart to do it again! One of the great new items that I was able to find for him is a Lego wrench to help him take the tiny pieces apart! It sure saves his little fingernails (and mine!)
Love, love, love! The colors are great together, the design is perfect and that’s one of my favorite sentiments. CASEing! I scrolled all the way to the bottom too 🙂
Debbie, I love this gorgeous card. I need inspiration for sending a gift card, and this design will be perfect. What a great picture of Noah with his latest accomplishment! Enjoy your day!
This is so pretty! And super smart way to put the gift card inside! And of course your color choices are fab, too.
