Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!
Hi, Stampers! Fun folds make every handmade card extra special, and today’s blog hop is FULL of great ideas! Whether you’re looking for a unique way to surprise someone or just want to try something new, you’re in for a treat. I’ve teamed up with very creative SU demonstrators to bring you a lineup of creative, must-try designs.

I love fun fold cards, but sometimes all that extra space can feel like too much! That’s why I’m obsessed with how easy it was to create this one using Stampin’ Up’s Wildflower Birthday designer paper and ephemera images. The Birthday Celebration stamp set and coordinating dies made finishing touches effortless—and suddenly, endless creativity felt totally manageable!

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, I used this Mixed Up Craft tutorial to create this 6×6 card. I love her cards but the instructions were not easy to follow, so I organized the measurements to make it easier for you (and me later).
- Card Base with Cardstock #1
- Card Back: 6 x 5-1/2
- Main Card Base: 8 x 5-1/2 and scored at 5, 7
- Front of the Card Base: 6 x 2
- Base Support (on bottom of the card base): 3 x 1, scored at 1/2″ on both sides
- Panel for front of the large Card Base:
- Cardstock #2: 5-1/4 x 4-3/4
- DSP: 5 x 4
- Pop-Up Panel:
- Cardstock #1: 5-1/4 x 4-1/2 and scored at 1/4, 1-1/4, 4-1/4 on 5-1/4 side
- Cardstock #2: 4-1/4 x 2-3/4
- DSP: 4 x 2-1/2
- Front Bottom Panel:
- Cardstock #1: 6 x 2
- Cardstock #2: 5-3/4 x 1-3/4
- DSP: 5-1/2 x 1-1/2
- Optional Panels:
- Top of Pop-Up Panel: 4-1/4 x 3/4
- Under the Pop-Up: 5-1/4 x 1-3/4
- Back of the Card (Stand):
- Cardstock #1: 5-1/4 x 5-7/8, and scored at 2-5/8
- Optional: DSP: 5-7/8 x 2-9/16 (2)
Now, the FUN Part!
- OK, I cut all of the papers and had a good time putting them all together. It’s pretty straight forward but the video on Sam’s blog post was very helpful.
- Then, all I really had to do was decorate it with the beautiful ephemera from the Wildflower Birthday designer paper and add the Birthday Celebration sentiments to add the message. So, I stamped the “Make a wish” with Blueberry Bushel ink for the pop-up panel. Then, I cut it out with the new Framed Scenes oval dies.
- After that, I cut out the “Happy Birthday” from the Wanted to Say dies, popping it up with foam adhesive that I also cut with the same die.
- Since some of the ephemera has gold highlights, I thought the Heart Sequins would be a nice touch to finish the front of the card.
Then, on the back…

- This area is “extra” since you can get the card to stand without the back easel stand, but I thought it would be more fun to add some details and a great place for a personal message.
- So, I cut and adhered the DSP to the two areas then stamped the “hooray” in Blueberry Bushel ink and cut it out with the oval Framed Scenes die.
- Ever had a crafty project turn into a cover-up mission? That’s exactly what happened when an ink smudge mysteriously appeared after I had already adhered everything to the card base. (WHY does this always happen when it’s too late to fix it easily?! 😂) So, I did what any creative would do—I added some extra flowers and leaves, and voilà! Now it looks totally intentional. The tiny ink smudge was truly a gift to make this card even better.
