Stampin’ Up! Birthday Celebration Fun Fold Card for CC #103

It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge! I made a new-to-me fun fold called the Accordion Flip card—and I really love it. I love how the inside design peeks out to the front like a little teaser. It’s the kind of card that makes people actually look at it instead of tossing it aside. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just dabbling in cardmaking, this one’s a showstopper. The Birthday Celebration suite is still available and it’s perfect for making birthday cards or even jazzing up a scrapbook page. I’ve got a link at the bottom of my blog post if you want to have a closer look.

Once you check out my card, you have until June 5th to play along in the new Creative Creases Challenge! We hope to see you in the gallery!

My Card Today

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • I had saved the project sheet from Lisa Curcio for this Accordion Flip card a year ago and just found it when I was cleaning up my computer files. I decided to make one, so I found her blog post to share with you all. It’s fun and very easy ~ my favorite kind! I used her measurements as a guide and added more layers, of course. Here are my measurements but feel free to use Lisa’s if you want.
  • Card Base: 5 1/2 x 11 and scored at 3-1/2, 5-1/8, 6-3/4
  • Card Front: Cardstock: 3-1/4 x 5-1/4 and DSP: 3-1/8 x 5-1/8
  • Inside Left Panel: 3-1/4 x 5-1/4 and DSP: 3-1/8 x 5-1/8
  • Double Middle Panels: Cardstock: 1-3/8 x 5-1/4 (2) and DSP: 1-1/4 x 5-1/8 (2)
  • Inside Right Panel: Cardstock: 4 x 5-1/4 and DSP: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8

Now, the FUN part!

  • I love the Wildflower Birthday DSP cut-out images, so I started decorating all of the panels with them, once they were adhered to the card base.
  • For the card front, I cut white cardstock with the Textured Notes die and stamped the Birthday Celebration sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink. Then, I added three of the cupcakes to the white panel, popping up one with dimensionals, as well as three Tinsel Gems for a bit of sparkle.
  • For the Inside Left panel, I added the beautiful bunch of balloons to bring a fun festive element to this birthday card.
  • Then, for the two middle panels, I stamped “hooray” and “Happy Day” in Blueberry Bushel ink and cropped them out with the smaller Textured Notes die. Once that was done, I layered them with more gold foil paper.
  • Finally, for the right inside panel, I cut white cardstock with the Countryside Corner die and centered it onto the panel, making sure it wouldn’t show when the card was closed. Then, I added a pretty flower from the DSP.

  9. Hi Debbie. Your cards are beautiful. I like to look at other peoples cards because it helps me get more ideas on how to make different cards. I’m 72 years old and struggling with Dementia so it’s sometimes difficult for me to get ideas in my head so I hope you don’t mind me looking at your cards. By the way, your kids are very cute.
